Welcome A very warm welcome to our worship this morning from all at New Laigh Kirk.We are delighted you are here today and hope you enjoy worshipping with us. New Laigh Kirk - a place to belong You will see that there are many people of all ages seeking to serve within New Laigh Kirk as well as the wider community. As part of the family of God and gifted with many and varying talents, we try to use these to deepen our faith, care for each other, and to spread into our town and parish the good news of God’s love for all. Whether you are a guest or regular attender we invite you to find your welcome place among us, a place to belong, to join in regular worship, to join in the life of our Kirk in whatever capacity and in your own appropriate way. May God richly Bless you in your worship today.

O Star of wonder, star of night Star with royal beauty bright Westward leading, still proceeding Guide us to thy Perfect Light Born a King on Bethlehem's plain Gold I bring to crown Him again King forever, ceasing never Over us all to reign Frankincense to offer have I Incense owns a Deity nigh Prayer and praising, all men raising Worship Him, God most high Myrrh is mine, its bitter perfume Breathes a life of gathering gloom Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying Sealed in the stone-cold tomb Glorious now behold Him arise King and God and Sacrifice Alleluia, Alleluia Earth to heaven replies Prayer of Intercession Heavenly Father, thou hast brought us Safely to the present day, Gently leading on our footsteps, Watching o'er us all the way. Friend and Guide through life's long journey, Grateful hearts to thee we bring; But for love so true and changeless How shall we fit praises sing? Mercies new and never-failing Brightly shine through all the past, Watchful care and loving-kindness Always near from first to last, Tender love, divine protection Ever with us day and night; Blessings more than we can number Strew the path with golden light.
Shadows deep have crossed our pathway; We have trembled in the storm; Clouds have gathered round so darkly That we could not see thy form; Yet thy love hath never left us In our griefs alone to be, And the help each gave the other Was the strength that came from thee. Many that we loved have left us, Reaching first their journey's end; Now they wait to give us welcome, Brother, sister, child, and friend. When at last our journey's over, And we pass away from sight, Father, take us through the darkness Into everlasting light. Happy New Year from all at New Laigh Kirk
Intimations The welcome team today and on Sunday, 14th January is Steuart Dey, Elizabeth Milloy, Marion Short, Margaret Brown, Kirsty McCall, Murray MacGregor, Elizabeth McKelvey, Shirley Auld, Joan Young, James Lang, John McLean, Janice Dey, Bill Highet, Jay Ward and Murray McCall. Worship on Sunday, 14th January is the Kilmarnock Pulpit Exchange beginning at 11.00am. Kingz Kidz and Trekkers NG should meet in church at 10.50am and sit together. Crèche facility in Session Room for children under three years of age. Tea and coffee will be served in the church immediately after the service. Kingz Kidz are encouraging all who would like to help out with the children to come and be a leader on Sunday mornings. Whether you would like to help out just once, twice or more often, then please speak to Amy or Email: amy_bh@hotmail.co.uk to get involved! A few copies of the Order of Service in large print are available. Please speak to a member of the duty team if you require one. The total received to date for the 820/100 Heritors Challenge Fund has now passed £24,000 and my thanks to all who have contributed to date. ● For members who wish to pay by cheque, please make the cheque payable to New Laigh Kirk and write on either the envelope or the rear of the cheque "Heritors Challenge Fund." Cheques, in an envelope, may be given to me or put in the collecting plate and I will get them at the end of the Service. ● For members paying by cash, it would be helpful if you could put your name on the envelope as I can then acknowledge your contribution and also claim back Gift Aid if you are a tax payer. I already hold Gift Aid Declarations for most members who pay Income Tax so no further paperwork is required. A £100 donation results in an additional £25 in tax reclaim. ● For members filling the collecting boxes, if you have completed the Challenge, boxes may be handed in. It would be helpful if your name and address is written on the box. The Congregational Board agreed that as the boxes were only issued for distribution in August that some members may require more time rather than the original end of
December completion date and it was agreed that Elders would collect the boxes from members who are using this method as they are distributing the Communion cards for the April Communion.
