Welcome A very warm welcome to worship this morning from all at New Laigh Kirk. We are glad you are here today and hope you enjoy worshipping with us. Please make yourself known to those sitting beside you. Tea and coffee will be served in the church immediately after the service.

New Laigh Kirk - a place to belong Whether you are a guest or regular attender we invite you to find your welcome place among us, a place to belong, to join in regular worship, to join in the life of our Kirk in whatever capacity and in your own appropriate way. This is in the form of handsets that visitors will be given, if they want, when they come to visit our Church. They carry it round with them and listen to a commentary about the history of the Church, the windows, etc. They can go at their own pace

and miss bits out if they want. The script was written by Sheila Grant and all the voices used in the story are members of our own congregation (of all ages.) Ken Stewart and Noel Patterson would like to invite not only the Doors Open Day Volunteers, but also any member of the Congregation who is interested, to come along to a demonstration of the equipment which should only last a short time and then if you want to have a play with a handset you are welcome to have a go (you will not break it - so don't worry). There is a choice of three dates - you can choose whichever suits you best and you just turn up on the day, no need to book! The dates to choose from are: Wednesday, 29th August between 11.00am and noon Wednesday, 29th August between 2.00pm and 3.00pm Wednesday, 5th September between 2.00pm and 3.00pm It is proposed that the new Audio Tour Guide will officially be launched to the public as part of Ayrshire Doors Open Weekend when members of the public will be invited to visit the Church on Saturday, 8th September 10.00am to 4.00pm and Sunday, 9th September 2.00pm to 4.00pm. All most welcome. The Barcaple trip for children and young people aged 8+, will no longer be a full weekend, but will only be Saturday, 22nd September for a full day of activities and faith/relationship building. Cost for only the one day is £44.50 in total, without lunch. The final payment for Barcaple is now due, please could you pay your remaining money as soon as possible. Most of you have paid the £12 deposit, so a payment of £32.50 is now required to complete the payment. We will make arrangements to be at the activity centre for 9.00am and be home for around 6.30/7.00pm and will fill the day with activities such as archery, biking, gorge walking, climbing, zip wiring and more Highlights Klub. Due to ongoing work in the halls, we have had to cancel the September evening of the Highlights, but we have been able to reschedule the planned activity to our November evening. Our first evening back will now be Monday, 8th October, when we look forward to seeing old friends and new. Full details of the revised syllabus can be found in the magazine available for distribution at the end of August.
