Minister: Rev. David S. Cameron Session Clerk: Mr. Derek I’Anson Organist: Mr. Martin C. Sharp
Welcome A very warm welcome to worship this morning from all at New Laigh Kirk. We are glad you are here today and hope you enjoy worshipping with us. Please make yourself known to those sitting beside you. Tea and coffee will be served in the church immediately after the service.
New Laigh Kirk - a place to belong Whether you are a guest or regular attender we invite you to find your welcome place among us, a place to belong, to join in regular worship, to join in the life of our Kirk in whatever capacity and in your own appropriate way. You will see that there are many people of all ages seeking to serve within New Laigh Kirk as well as the wider community. As part of the family of God and gifted with many and varying talents, we try to use these to deepen our faith, care for each other, and to spread into our town and parish the good news of God’s love for all. May God richly bless you in your worship today.
Order of Service Introit
How lovely is thy dwelling place
Welcome and Intimations Call to Worship You're the word of God the Father, From before the world began; Every star and every planet Has been fashioned by Your hand. All creation holds together By the power of Your voice: Let the skies declare Your glory, Let the land and seas rejoice! You're the Author of creation, You're the Lord of every man; And Your cry of love rings out Across the lands.
Yet You left the gaze of angels, Came to seek and save the lost, And exchanged the joy of heaven For the anguish of a cross. With a prayer You fed the hungry, With a word You stilled the sea; Yet how silently You suffered That the guilty may go free. You're the Author of creation, You're the Lord of every man; And Your cry of love rings out Across the lands. With a shout You rose victorious, Wresting victory from the grave, And ascended into heaven, Leading captives in Your wake. Now You stand before the Father, Interceding for Your own. From each tribe and tongue and nation, You are leading sinners home. You're the Author of creation

Glory be to God the Father
Prayer of Intercession We love the place, O God, Wherein thine honour dwells; The joy of thine abode All earthly joy excels. It is the house of prayer, Wherein thy servants meet; And thou, O Lord, art there, Thy chosen flock to greet. We love the word of life, The word that tells of peace, Of comfort in the strife, And joys that never cease. We love to sing below For mercies freely given; But O we long to know The triumph song of heaven! Lord Jesus, give us grace, On earth to love thee more, In heaven to see thy face, And with, thy saints adore. Sermon

They carry it round with them and listen to a commentary about the history of the Church, the windows, etc. They can go at their own pace and miss bits out if they want. The script was written by Sheila Grant and all the voices used in the story are members of our own congregation (of all ages.) Ken Stewart and Noel Patterson would like to invite not only the Doors Open Day Volunteers, but also any member of the Congregation who is interested, to come along to a demonstration of the equipment which should only last a short time and then if you want to have a play with a handset you are welcome to have a go (you will not break it - so don't worry).
