Harvest Thanksgiving

Welcome A very warm welcome to worship this morning from all at New Laigh Kirk. We are delighted you are here for our Harvest Thanksgiving Service and hope you enjoy worshipping with us. Please make yourself known to those sitting beside you and join us for tea and coffee served in the church immediately after the service. Thank you to all who brought produce to our Harvest Table this morning. These goods will be presented to the Salvation Army for distribution to people in our town who need help and assistance to feed themselves and their families. Ask God’s Blessing on our donation today. Volunteers are required after the service to help pack the donations. Whether you are a guest or regular attender we invite you to find your welcome place among us, a place to belong, to join in regular worship, to join in the life of our Kirk in whatever capacity and in your own appropriate way. May God richly Bless you in your worship today.

Order of Service Introit

Now sing we a song for the harvest

Welcome and Intimations Call to worship Hymn 137 All things bright and beautiful Prayer All age address Creation sings the Father’s song; He calls the sun to wake the dawn

And run the course of day Till evening comes in crimson rays. His fingerprints in flakes of snow, His breath upon this spinning globe, He charts the eagle’s flight; Commands the newborn baby’s cry. Hallelujah! Let all creation stand and sing, “Hallelujah!” Fill the earth with songs of worship; Tell the wonders of creation’s King. Creation gazed upon His face; The ageless One in time’s embrace Unveiled the Father’s plan Of reconciling God and man. A second Adam walked the earth, Whose blameless life would break the curse, Whose death would set us free To live with Him eternally. Hallelujah! Let all creation stand and sing, “Hallelujah!” Fill the earth with songs of worship; Tell the wonders of creation’s King. Creation longs for His return, When Christ shall reign upon the earth; The bitter wars that rage Are birth pains of a coming age. When He renews the land and sky, All heaven will sing and earth reply With one resplendent theme: The glory of our God and King! Hallelujah! Let all creation stand and sing,

“Hallelujah!” Fill the earth with songs of worship; Tell the wonders of creation’s King. Reading

Sermon Offering Presentation of the offering Hymn 807 Praise God from whom all blessings flow Prayer of dedication asking God’s blessing on our offering You're the word of God the Father, From before the world began; Every star and every planet Has been fashioned by Your hand. All creation holds together By the power of Your voice: Let the skies declare Your glory, Let the land and seas rejoice! You're the Author of creation, You're the Lord of every man; And Your cry of love rings out Across the lands.

Yet You left the gaze of angels, Came to seek and save the lost, And exchanged the joy of heaven For the anguish of a cross. With a prayer You fed the hungry, With a word You stilled the sea; Yet how silently You suffered That the guilty may go free. You're the Author of creation, You're the Lord of every man; And Your cry of love rings out Across the lands. With a shout You rose victorious, Wresting victory from the grave, And ascended into heaven, Leading captives in Your wake. Now You stand before the Father Interceding for Your own. From each tribe and tongue and nation You are leading sinners home. You're the Author of creation
