You will see that there are many people of all ages seeking to serve within New Laigh Kirk as well as the wider community. As part of the family of God and gifted with many and varying talents, we try to use these to deepen our faith, care for each other, and to spread into our town and parish the good news of God’s love for all. Welcome and Intimations Worship on Sunday, 2nd December is the first Sunday in Advent and will be conducted by the Minister beginning at 11.00am. Kingz Kidz and TrekkersNG should meet at 10.50am in church and sit together. Crèche facility for children under three years of age. There will be a short service of communion in the church immediately after the service. The Welcome Team today and on Sunday, 2nd December is Janice Grant, Lesley Shedden, Pat Armstrong, Nana Lauchlan, Ellen Stewart, Alan Gregor, Neil Hamilton, Stuart Layburn, Tom Dalziel, Margaret Ross, Anne Scullion, Miriam Patterson, Moira Goudie, Robert Clark and John Richmond. A few copies of the Order of Service in large print are available. Please speak to a member of the duty team if you require one. There is an induction loop system for the hard of hearing. The Bethlehem Experience will take place THIS AFTERNOON from 2.00pm to 5.00pm as part of the Kilmarnock Christmas Lights Switch On. This will include an outdoor adult nativity and some stalls set up to look like a marketplace in Bethlehem. We require volunteers to deliver a copy of the Christmas flyer to every household in our parish and to approach retail businesses in the town centre to ask if they would be willing to make them available to their customers. If you can assist with this, please contact Stephen Brown. Leaflets available TODAY. If you would like to be included in the rota for Bible Reading at Sunday worship for 2019, please give your name to Helen Colman. Both new and existing readers should add their names to the list.


There are a few Real (Fairtrade) Advent Calendars left. These cost £3.66 and are available after the service from Charles Sim. First come (with cash) - first served! There will be a Beetle Drive in aid of the Guild Projects on Monday, 26th November at 7.30pm in lower hall. Tickets, costing £3 and including refreshments, available at church from Guild members. Everyone welcome. Alpha Course at the Coffee Press, Bank Place concludes on Monday, 26th November at 7.00pm. Tots Praise will meet on Tuesday, 27th November from 10.15am to 11.15am in lower hall. Music and Movement will meet on Tuesday, 27th November at 2.00pm in upper hall. Christmas lunch in Troon on Tuesday, 4th December. Bus will leave from outside Tannahill's in John Finnie Street at 12noon. NLK Kilmarnock Community Choir Project for all singers aged 16 years or over will meet on Tuesday, 27th November at 7.00pm in the church. St Andrew’s Day of Prayer. In response to a national initiative, there will be a day of prayer, with churches hosting a prayer session for one hour consecutively. New Laigh Kirk will be open for prayer from 12noon to 1.00pm. Friendship Group. There are still tickets available for the pantomime - Sleeping Beauty - for the young and young at heart (over 60s) on Saturday, 1st December at 2.00pm in Palace Theatre. Tickets cost £13 for members and £15 for non-members. If you are going to the pantomime, please be at the Palace Theatre no later than 1.45pm as the pantomime starts at 2.00pm. Please note later time. New Scottish Hymns Worship Music Workshop for all musicians and singers connected to NLK. Come and join us to learn, to celebrate, communicate and express faith through a variety of music styles. Christmas tea in Troon. Bus will leave from outside Tannahill's in John Finnie Street at 2.00pm. New Laigh Kirk has a public Facebook page which many people do not yet follow. We would like this to be a place to celebrate some of the great things we do in NLK, as well as be able to advertise groups and activities people can come along to be part of. If you would like something posted on the public Facebook page at any time, please send a note of it along with a photo or video to Email: bethanymccaw@icloud.com. The WW1 displays will be removed from display on Monday, 26th November and photographs can be collected after this date. Thank you to all those who contributed to the displays. If you have any used postage stamps or unwanted postcards with stamps attached, please give them to Esther Douglas as she is collecting for charities. Church Open and Welcome on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 12noon to 2.00pm. We urgently require a pool of volunteers, especially men, to welcome the visitors on a rota basis. We are particularly short of volunteers on Wednesdays. If you could help even occasionally, it would be most appreciated. Please speak to Helen Colman. Remember that the more volunteers there are, the less often you will be on duty!


The church will be open mid day during Advent and volunteers are required. If you are able to help cover the period of opening, in whole or in part, including on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 12noon to 2.00pm, please give your name to Helen Colman to enable our celebrations to be shared as widely as possible. Open Doors. New Laigh Kirk will be opening its doors to all on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 12noon to 2.00pm. The Church will be open for those who want to come for a period of solitude or reflection; to see the stained glass windows from the inside; or to find out some of the history of the church and town. New Laigh Kirk Volunteers - Needing help with shopping, DIY, gardening or a lift to medical appointments? Do you find reading difficult with failing eyesight?
