Benediction Welcome and Intimations A very warm welcome to worship this morning from all at New Laigh Kirk. We are glad you are here today and hope you enjoy worshipping with us. Please make yourself known to those sitting beside you. We especially welcome Rev. G Stewart Birse, formerly of Newton Wallacetown Church in Ayr. During the summer months tea and coffee is served in the church between the two services. Join us after the 9.30am or before the 11.00am service. A few copies of the Order of Service in large print are available. Please speak to a member of the duty team if you require one.
Worship on Sunday, 6th August will be our Guardians of Ancora Summer Club Service which will be held in the church at 11.00am. One service only. There will be a meeting of the Kirk Session at 10.30am in Session Room. Heritors Challenge Boxes are now available. Donations of baking will be very welcome for the youth group as many of them will be serving all day and having dinner together before their youth activities. EACHa's Home from Home project, run in conjunction with St John's Onthank, began in January this year, and is becoming very popular. It takes place in St John's hall every Friday from 4.00pm till 6.00pm, and provides families with a hot meal, along with activities such as games, quizzes and crafts. Due to increasing popularity, we'd be delighted to hear from anyone who would like to volunteer with us on a rota basis. We are looking for people to help in the kitchen - no cooking required - or to lead or help with games and activities for nursery and primary age children. Please get in touch with Janice Grant, Tel: 07581 722331, if you'd like to know more about what is involved. NLK Walking Group - weekly Wednesday evening walks at 7.00pm (weather permitting) at the entrance to main car park, Dean Castle Country Park. Walk lasts around 45 minutes. All welcome. The next weekend walk will take place on Saturday, 12th August at Chatelherault Country Park, Hamilton. It will depart from the entrance to the main car park at Chatelherault at 2.00pm. Anyone requiring, or who is able to offer transport, please contact Ellen Stewart. There are lots of walking routes available in the country park area and along the Avon Gorge. Chatelherault Country Park is 2.5 kilometres SE of Hamilton, on the A72 at Ferniegair, South Lanarkshire. It is a short distance from the M74, Junction 7. Postcode for satnav is ML3 7UE.
A First Aid training course has been organised for Friday, 8th September in the halls. Church Open and Welcome on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 12noon to 2.00pm. We urgently require a pool of volunteers, especially men, to welcome the visitors on a rota basis.
