BIKE MS: COUNTRY ROADS RIDE We are pleased to invite you to be a part of this extraordinary ride. Bike MS: Country Rodas Ride is a two-day fundraising cycling event, taking cyclists from The Greenbrier Resort to Snowshoe Mountain and back. Each year, over 100 people ride in this event, 50 dedicated individuals volunteer their time and enthusiasm to help us create an unforgettable experience, and hundreds of spectators come out to cheer on our cyclists as they complete the ride of their lives. Sponsors have the opportunity to interact with attendees at the pre-event packet pick-up Friday night, the overnight location at Snowshoe Mountain, and at the finish line celebrations at The Greenbrier Resort. Bike MS: Country Roads Ride will connect your business with individuals who love cycling and are passionate about achieving the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s vision of a world free of MS. What’s more, activation elements will offer exposure to individuals living with MS, plus those who love and care for them.

BIKE MS: COUNTRY ROADS RIDE 2016 CAMPAIGN GUIDELINES ABOUT BIKE MS: COUNTRY ROADS RIDE 2017 Date: August 26-27, 2017 This is the 28th annual Bike MS: Country Roads Ride and set to host over 200 cyclists and volunteers for the weekend long event.
ABOUT THE ROUTE Road route riders will enjoy traveling through some of West Virginia’s most beautiful territory where they will sneak a peek of Senator Rockefeller’s countryside home, ride through the Greenbank Observatory, and end at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. Trail trek cyclists will enjoy the beautiful Greenbrier River Trail--a packed, crusher surface with a mere one percent grade--before heading up to Snowshoe Mountain Resort. Both route options conclude day one with a feast, massages, musical entertainment and an evening program. Day two begins with a nice breakfast before cyclists begin their journey back to The Greenbrier and the festive finish line.
2016 HIGHLIGHTS • Due to the West Virginia floods in the counties of Greenbrier and Pocahontas, the ride had to be moved to Morgantown, WV as a one day event • Over 100 cyclists and 50 volunteers • Cyclists raised over $90,000

WE INVITE YOU TO VOLUNTEER BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER BIKE MSÂŽ! Many corporations acknowledge and reward their employees for volunteering through Volunteer Grant Programs. Through these programs, companies provide monetary grants to organizations where employees volunteer on a regular basis. Often times these grant donations can be put toward a team or individual fundraising total. Volunteer Grant Programs are fairly common, especially at medium to large companies. For instance, 40% of Fortune 500 companies offer volunteer grant programs. Contact your Human Resources Department to see if your company has a Volunteer Grant program.
EMPLOYER MATCHING GIFTS Many companies have matching gift program to maximize their financial contributions to non-profit organizations. ABOUT MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS
Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are leading to better understanding and moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 2.3 million worldwide.
