In signing this release, I (we) understand the intent thereof and I (we) hereby agree and will absolve and hold harmless the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Virginia – West Virginia, corporate sponsors, cooperating organizations, and any other parties connected with this event in any way singly or collectively, from and against any blame and liability for any injury, misadventure, harm, loss, inconvenience, or damage hereby suffered or sustained as a result of participation in the MS Bike Ride or any activities associated herewith. I (we) also hereby consent to and permit emergency treatment in the event of injury or illness. I (we) also give full permission for use of my (our) names and photographs in connection with this event in any form, printed or electronic. Volunteers must be at least 10 years of age. Anyone under 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent.

Directions on how to fill out and return form via e-mail: Open the form with Adobe Acrobat Reader and fill it out as required. When you are finished, click on File -> Save As… Choose a location on your computer to save it to, like your Desktop, by clicking “Choose a Different Folder…”. Once the new location is chosen, name the file something like “Your name 2017 Bike Volunteer Registration Form”. Then click “Save”. Now open your e-mail and create a new email, click the paperclip icon to locate the newly saved file and attach it to the email. See the bottom of the 2nd page for the e-mail address to send it to.


Bike MS Volunteer Opportunities Set-up/Break-Down (6-10 people): Meet staff in Richmond to help set up Saturday morning and/or pack up on Sunday afternoon. Registration (SATURDAY ONLY; 5-10 people): Check-in cyclists, help pin on rider numbers and other duties as assigned Saturday morning. People selecting registration may also choose to work at the Lunch Stop, Rest Stops 4-6, or the Finish Line in Williamsburg. Rest Stops (4-8 people per stop / 6-7 stops each day): Serve water, food and good cheer to cyclists. Lunch (15 people / 1 stop each day): Help set up, make sandwiches, serve food & water, and cheer on cyclists. Williamsburg Finish Line (MUST BE ABLE TO WORK UNTIL 5:00pm ON SATURDAY; 10-15 people): Greet and cheer on cyclists; provide cold towels to cyclists; help with Team Tent Village; pass out snacks and water. Richmond Finish Line (MUST BE ABLE TO WORK UNTIL 5:00PM ON SUNDAY; 6-10 people): Greet and cheer on cyclists. Provide cold towels to cyclists; hand out medals and cold towels; help with Food Service Truck Driver / Route Support (5 people each day): Drive or ride along with a supply truck. Drop off all necessary items to each rest stop in the morning, pick everything back up once that stop closes, and restock any/all rest stops throughout the day as needed. SAG Driver (6-8 vehicles each day): Provide transportation to cyclists and their bikes along the route as needed. Driver must provide own vehicle and have a valid driver’s license and car insurance. Volunteers Information Support (2-3 people each day): Help check-in volunteers each morning. Be available at the Information Booth in Williamsburg to answer questions, and sell merchandise. Ride along with the Volunteer Coordinator to help check-in volunteers, check each rest stop. Luggage Handler (5-10 people): Help load and unload cyclists’ luggage at Richmond and/or Williamsburg Saturday and Sunday. *This field is REQUIRED; we cannot process your registration form without these fields filled in. ** We will make every effort to assign you to your preferred volunteer selection.
