The eunice kennedy shriver national institute for childhood health and human development was a furniture procurement project and major move to an 80,000 sf office space. key team members of the project included nichd furniture committee, arium architects, nichd contractor bah, gsa and bialek environments.. Working closely with the groups above typicals were developed that gave employees the privacy they desired for their individual work while also providing shared meeting spaces for collaboration and employee interaction. Selecting furniture, finalizing floor plans, and preparing the statement of work were a huge part of the design process and communication among all team members was key in order to ensure successful coordination across all design aspects. LIGHT FINISHES AS WELL AS POPS OF COLOR ON THE TRANSITIONAL FURNITURE PIECES ARE FOUND THROUGHOUT THE SPACE TO GIVE AN OVERALL LIGHT AND ENERGETIC DESIGN AESTHETIC. MAINTING CLOSE INVOLVEMENT WITH THE FURNITURE DEALER THROUGHOUT THE FURNITURE ORDER AND INSTALLATION PROCESS ALLOWED FOR THE SUCCESSFUL DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN EXCITING NEW WORK ENVIRONMENT FOR nichd employees to enjoy.

The office of inspector general u.s. DEPARTMENT of the interior recently relocated TO A 29,000 SF office LOCATED in herndon, virginiA. WORKING IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FEDERAL ACQUISITION SERVICE nEW FURNITURE WAS PROVIDED FOR A VARIETY OF SPACES INCLUDING OPEN WORK AREA, PRIVATE OFFICES, CONFERENCE ROOMS, SMALL MEETING ROOMS AS WELL AS A PANTRY. Workstation and private OFFICE tYPICALS WERE DEVELOPED BASED ON THE COMPANY CULTURE WHILE Open area and huddle room seating arrangements provided a comfortable area for collaboration and encouraged TEAMWORK. A DETAILED FURNITURE LAYOUT WAS COMPLETED, FINISHES WERE SELECTED, AND THE PROCUREMENT AND SOLICITATION PACKAGE WAS SOLIDIFIED. Maintaining a strong client relationship as well as MANAGING DEALER COORDINATION FROM AWARD TO FINAL PUNCH ITEMS ALLOWED FOR THE VISION TO REALLY COME TO LIFE. FURNITURE WAS PROVIDED THAT ENCOURAGED EFFICIENCY AND PRODUCTIVITY WHILE ALSO INCORPORATING AN ENERGETIC AND EXISTING DESIGN AESTHETIC. A mix of contemporary as well as traditional furniture allowed for an overall sophisticated YET playful work environment CREATED to ATTRACT NEW EMPLOYEES FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.

Serve Our Willing Warriors is a non-profit organization whose mission is to create a growing coalition of aware engaged and supportive individuals, companies and communities who can provide ongoing support to our wounded ill and injured Warriors and THEIR Families. The centerpiece of SOWW’s vision is the establishment of the Bull Run Warrior Retreat located in the town of Haymarket, Virginia. It is an 11,000 square foot home situated on 44 acres on the historic and picturesque Virginia countryside of Bull Run Mountain. The goal of the retreat is to provide warriors and their families with a much needed break from the hospital environments where they can reconnect, reflect, and renew in a peaceful family home environment designed and created just for them.
