It is the mission of the NJCAA to foster a national program of athletic participation in an environment that supports equitable opportunities consistent with the educational objectives of member colleges. The NJCAA's mission is to promote and foster two-year college athletics. Unlawful discrimination is incompatible with this mission and detracts from the organizations goal of promoting healthy and fair competition. The NJCAA prohibits unlawful discrimination based on sex, race, color, national origin, ancestry, disability, religion, creed, sexual orientation, age or any other characteristic protected by applicable law in the NJCAA's governance, programs, regulations and employment practices. NOC Tonkawa has a record of 80-43 in Head Coach Ryan Bay’s first two seasons with the program. The 2016 season included a school record setting season with 43 wins. The Mavericks finished second in the Region 2 regular season last year while also finishing Runner up in the Region 2 Tournament. 2016 brought 4 All- Region Players, 3 Academic All-Americans, 2 All-Americans, 1 NJCAA National Player of the Week, NJCAA National Record for RBI’s, 8 NCAA D2 signees, 3 NCAA D1 signees, and 2 MLB Draft Picks. Under Coach Bay in his first season at NOC Tonkawa the Mavericks finished with a record of 37-24. The Mavs also produced 2 All-Region Players, 1 All-American, 1 NJCAA National Player of the Week, 1 NCAA D1 signee, 1 NCAA D2 signee, and 1 NAIA signee. NOC Tonkawa has also had an additional 24 All-Region Players, 11 Academic All-Americans, 1 All-American, 3 NJCAA National Player of the Week recipients, 1 NJCAA National Rawlings Gold Glove Award recipient, and the NJCAA Stolen Base National Record Holder.
The Maverick Athletic Complex, located just South of the main campus, is the home to Maverick baseball. Since opening the baseball field has had many renovations making it among the best facilities of its kind in Oklahoma.
Improvements are essential with any facilities and Head Coach Ryan Bay and the Maverick Baseball staff work hard each year to make sure the Maverick Baseball facilities continue to improve. Since taking over in the fall of 2014 Coach Bay has been apart of repainting the press box, dugouts, and outfield fence, while also installing new seatback bleachers, new side fences, and having the lips on the field professionally removed. The Mavericks have also recently bought a new sound system for both the field and the Indoor Hitting Facility, installing Turf Bullpen mounds and a covered bullpen seating area. This summer the Mavs plan to build a state-of-the-art outdoor hitting facility down the third base line.
Next to the field is an Indoor Hitting Facility. The Indoor is utilized by hitters to get extra repetitions during practice and also gives the Mavs a place to practice during bad weather. The indoor allows players to come up during the evenings and hit on their own. Pitchers also utilize the indoor in the wintertime to throw bullpens.
The Mavs weight room is a large facility that gives our team plenty of room to use while also having all the necessary equipment to make large gains in both strength and speed. The philosophy of the NOC Tonkawa strength and conditioning program is to provide a structured, sportspecific, training program that utilizes a combination of functional training, Olympic lifting, power and speed development, and flexibility training.
Our offseason programs are extremely intensive programs that concentrate on strength, power, agility, speed, core, and flexibility.

Ryan Bay is entering his third season as the Mavericks head baseball coach. In 2016 Bay’s team set a school record for wins by going 43-19. During the spring Bay's team was also ranked as high as 7th in the country and finished as the NJCAA Region 2 Runner Up. Bay coached two draft picks (Ariel Burgos-Garcia, Walker Whitworth), two NJCAA All Americans (Ariel Burgos-Garcia, Josh Evans), three Academic All Americans (Ted Wisdom, Walker Whitworth, Chad Dunlop), and helped twelve players sign to play at four year universities. The Mavericks were also ranked as high as 12th in the NJCAA national poll and remained in the national top 25 for 6 more weeks. The NOC Mavericks finished 3rd in the Region II Tournament. When asked about the 2015 season Bay responded “Our success this year is a reflection of our guy’s effort, passion and sacrifice. Guys were bought in from day one and they played the game the right way.” Coach Bay spent the previous six seasons as head coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma. Bay took over an eight-win team in 2009 and immediately shaped it into a contender, posting 26 victories. In 2010, Northwestern was one win shy of the NAIA National Tournament and a 35-22 overall record. Prior to coaching at NWOSU, Bay had a successful three-year reign at Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma. During his time at Bacone Bay finished with a record of 105-54, won the Red River Athletic Conference North Division Title and an 18th national ranking in the NAIA.
