Find Peace and Happiness By existing in a state of continually staying present you will find peace. You will enjoy a tranquil state of happiness because you have let go of the struggle with your past and future. Many of life’s problems can be connected to these moments. How you see your past or what is to come often overrules our existence in the moment we are in. If you were to exist fully in the now of the moment, without clinging to issues of your past or worry for the future, there is nothing but being. Sounds simple enough, by letting go of your past and future you are free to find true happiness and peace within yourself. Yet it is surprising how often, in very short periods of time, we take ourselves on these little trips. Going backwards or jumping forwards when the only true place we are is the moment we are in. How much time do you think you spend feeling or thinking about your past or future? How often do you journey forward worrying about what might come or what you should do? How many times have you brought up old memories or emotions so you could drag yourself backwards? It is unhealthy and not real to exist in this way. Yet all of us do it, it serves no positive purpose in the end; it just creates more problems. The more we do it the further we are from finding peace and being at ease. Sometimes it feels uncontrollable but it is not We give ourselves the freedom and even desire to journey constantly forward and backward. If you could, even for a moment, feel yourself stay present and grounded, it is a relief. It is like allowing yourself to breathe after holding your breath for your whole life. Try, in measures, to pull yourself back to the present. When you feel yourself drift, try not to let the journey overcome you, end the trip before it can fully begin. Remind yourself happiness comes by being fully present. It will not be reached in your past or future for they are either over or have not begun and so do not exist. Happiness and peace exist now, right now, not yesterday or tomorrow. For in truth, you only really have today.

Historical Interest - Croagh Patrick Croagh Patrick’s history as a place of worship reaches back in time as far as 3,000 BC. The mountain’s popularity among religious pilgrims dates to the time of St. Patrick, who is said to have completed a forty-day Lenten ritual of fasting and penance here. Legend also has it that Croagh Patrick is the mount from which he banished snakes from Ireland forever! Each year, on the last Sunday in July, thousands of devotees from all around the world visit the mountain for what is known as "Reek Sunday", a day of worship in honour of Ireland’s patron saint. Some people even climb the mountainside barefoot, as an act of penance. Outdoor masses are held throughout the day, along with confessions at St. Patrick’s Chapel. This is one place in rural Ireland where you can meet and speak with people from around the globe. An archaeological excavation licensed by the National Monuments service commenced on August 2 1994. It discovered evidence of Christian activity but also showed that Croagh Patrick was a place of tremendous importance in the pre-Christian era, as indicated by the discovery of a Celtic hill fort encircling the summit of the mountain. The exciting discovery of a dry stone oratory push back further in time our knowledge of pilgrimage architecture on the summit. It is akin to the Gallarus Oratory in County Kerry and has been radiocarbon dated to between 430 and 890 AD. National Famine Monument at Night © Teach na Miasa 2012. How to Grow an Endless Supply of Ginger Indoors.
Ginger is the perfect herb to grow indoors. It’s very low-maintenance, loves partial sunlight, and you can use parts of it any time, leaving the rest in the soil to continue growing. Besides, it’s delicious! Really, what’s not to love about growing ginger inside?
A bit about ginger
Ginger takes 10 months to mature and it doesn’t tolerate frost. If you live in a place where it gets chilly in the winter, you’d be better off growing ginger in a pot indoors and bringing it outside in the summertime. Ginger is one of those miraculous plants that grows well in partial to full shade, which makes it ideal for growing in your home, where most people don’t have full sun pouring on their windows all day long. Little bits of the ginger root can be removed while it continues to grow. A little bit of ginger goes a long way, so these pieces can be used for cooking, brewing tea or for herbal remedies.
How to plant ginger The best ginger to plant is purchased from a garden center or seed catalogue. You’ll have much better luck if you get seed ginger that was meant to be planted. However, ginger can be hard to find from garden suppliers, especially locally. Ginger purchased from the produce department of your local grocery store can be used to grow a plant, but with spotty results. Grocery store ginger is often sprayed with a growth inhibitor to keep it from sprouting before it’s purchased. That inhibitor also keeps it from sprouting when you stick it in a pot of soil. Grocery store ginger also could be coated in pesticides and fungicides. The truth is, you have no idea what’s on it. I’ve heard of grocery store ginger growing just fine, and I’ve heard of it sitting in a pot forever and never budging. If you do purchase your ginger from the grocery store, be sure to soak it in water overnight to remove as much growth inhibitor as you can . By Meredith Skyer
Natural rights
We must go beyond the arrogance of human rights. We must go beyond the ignorance of civil rights. We must step into the reality of natural rights because all the natural world has a right to existence. We are only a small part of it. There can be no trade off.
