The Magic of Mykonos
Known for beautiful beaches and luxurious resorts, Mykonos boasts charming tavernas, fantastic seafood, and an incredible climate. If you're looking for an ideal place to stay, Bluetopia Suites is a cute bed and breakfast located in the 'Little Venice' neighborhood of Mykonos City, conveniently next to the island's famous windmills. Another great option is Hotel Belvedere, near the town center. Be sure to stop by the rooftop bar for a cocktail at sunset or make a reservation for dinner at its famous Japanese restaurant, Matsuhisa.
Santorini is one of Greece's most iconic Islands. With stunning sunsets, historic ruins, and beautiful vineyards, it's a striking island with plenty to see and do. The town of Oia is renown for picturesque white houses, blue-domed churches, and old-fashioned windmills. Be sure to check out Akrotiri, a 3,500-year-old site that was once one of the most prominent cities in the Aegean. After a volcanic eruption, it was covered in ash, which is why some refer to it as “Greece's Pompeii.”
While on Crete, be sure to explore the Palace of Knossos, which is the island's largest Bronze Age archaeological site, built in the 17th century B.C. You'll learn about the Minoans, an ancient civilization named after the mythical King Minos, who is known for constructing the labyrinth that imprisoned the monstrous Minotaur. Another must-see site is Zeus’ Cave, where legend holds that the father of all Greek gods was born. No trip to Crete is complete without a journey to the plateau of Katharo. After navigating winding dirt roads and a lush forest, you'll eventually emerge to the island's highest point. Nearly 5,000 feet above sea level, this is the perfect opportunity to stop at a kafenio (café) for a drink and enjoy the incredible view.
All Roads Lead to Rhodes
The history of Rhodes' Acropolis of Lindos dates back thousands of years. Today, it is the island's most-visited archeological site, perched on a high cliff, dominating the town and overlooking the sea. If you're a history lover, this is a must-visit site. Its beautiful setting and spectacular views are unparalleled.
