High Quality Dog Food

Dogs are one of the best things in life. They are loving and faithful companions that are great to come home to at the end of the day. Dogs are truly special and if you want to have a dog, then you must be prepared to pay the price—don’t worry, it’s worth it. One of the things you must invest in is best dog food. Remember, our dogs may protect us from many things, but when it comes to their health—they are completely dependent on us. They do not know how to survive in the domesticated setting that is where we live. The gray streets yield no vegetables and fruits that they need, not to mention the raw meat that most canines need to stay healthy. Their dietary requirements rely entirely on us and we shouldn’t take this lightly. A dog on a substandard commercial pet food diet is oftentimes weak, sickly and has a dull coat— you wouldn’t want this for your dog now would you? If you want to prevent this from happening to your dog, you must give him high quality dog food. This will not come cheap. However, make no mistake— it is one of the best investments you will ever make. When you buy the best food for your dog, you will have a healthy dog that you can share many happy memories with. Moreover, you will less likely spend time and money bringing him to vets and getting him treatments or medicines that he will not need. As much as you are able, I highly recommend that you give your dog a natural and raw diet. Some people are not comfortable with the idea of uncooked meat or food entering their dog’s system, but most experts will tell you that this is safe. Dogs have shorter intestines (and an acidic one at that) that make for a hostile environment for harmful bacteria. What are some of the food that canines will greatly benefit from? Lean beef, chicken and turkey (without the bones) are great sources of protein. Carrots, green peas, broccoli, zucchini and potatoes are some favorite vegetables that dogs love. Fruits with their seeds and piths removed will satisfy the dog’s sweet tooth. And when you choose grains, opt for whole grain or oatmeal—they are healthier for dogs. Of course if you are unable to plan and prepare your dog a natural diet, there are other options you can choose from. Premium pet food products are more expensive than commercial pet food, but they are extremely good for your dog’s health. It is a good idea to give your dog a mixed diet of natural and pet food. Add in a few pieces of meat, fruit or vegetables in a bag of pet food. Check with the vet to see if your dog has health concerns that a change in diet can improve on.
