About us Maine Teen Camp (MTC) is a private, family owned overnight summer camp for teens, located in beautiful southwestern Maine. The property is almost completely surrounded by water. Our main lodge is the focal point of camp overlooking Stanley Pond. Established in 1984, MTC is a progressive summer camp that retains the sense of community and belonging of a traditional camp, but without the social barriers for a teen starting at a more traditional, broader age-range camp.

Our focus is on the unique developmental and social needs of teenagers. The camp population is 225 campers per session, all between the ages of 13-17. MTC is a multicultural community, representing campers from all over the USA and the world. Our campers are placed in cabin groups according to grade levels in school. Our campers experience a broad range of activities, make new friends, and meet new challenges in a supportive and safe environment.
Our Mission Our mission is to provide each individual with a diverse camp experience in a safe and supportive environment that promotes emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development. MTC aims to improve confidence, resilience and independence; provide the motivation
to explore new opportunities; and develop leadership abilities. Collectively this fosters a summer of personal growth, challenges, friendships, and adventure. Maine Teen Camp and its staff empower campers to make good choices and become successful community members and responsible and resilient young adults.

Campers are given a guided tour of camp activities when they arrive. They register for their week of activities the same day. We have over 40 elective activities that campers may choose from each week. Campers switch activities at the end of each week in the schedule. Campers are encouraged to both focus on their choice of activities and try something new that they have never tried before. Each evening, we hold our evening program activity. Whether it’s a dance, a festival, a theme night, or a talent night, our campers enjoy a wide range of fun, new and interesting evening activities.
Our Staff Our staff come from all over the USA and internationally. Staff are screened and backgrounds are verified. We hire enthusiastic and energetic camp staff who have a range of skills, interests, abilities, and talents. Over 60% of our staff return every summer and many of our staff have been former campers, who apply to work with us, motivated to give back to the community that means so much to them.
