Creator’s Statement The following zine is a solo project, meant to introduce the popular television show: Jane the Virgin. I thought about Jane Villenueva’s potential position with Rafael being “otherworldly” and the melodrama that comes with falling in love with an alien. The adapted script is presented on page 3, images are taken from the television show, and the overall zine attempts emulating the importance of representation of character. No matter how many problems both Jane and Rafael faced, they had limited time before another member came into the family. Their relationship is not typical, Rafael is an alien having trouble maintaining his home world and Earth. Jane is a working class writer expecting a child, the odds are not in their favor.
