BFA INTERIOR DESIGN
PREFACE THIS PORTFOLIO
is a collection of work
by Noor AlHelew. She is a graduae of the BFA Interior Design program at San Jose State University. Noor ’s designs are inspired by her time living in Palestine. She believes that when you design for the user you can alter their experience and perception of a space, and that yields successful design.

FOREST ARCH
FOREST ARCH
is an architectural structure
that emerged f rom the design process of combining different materials to create a cube. Nine test models were developed f rom different methods of combining branches, wood dowels, yarn, and wire. Each material was used to represent a different aspect of our built environment. The wood branches represent
nature,
and
the
wood
dowels
represent industrialism. The yarn and wire used to combine both materials represent the literal binding between nature and the built environment. The softness of the yarn contrasts
the
rigid
branches,
