PROBLEM: As towables get larger, the surface area contacting the water increases. Increased contact creates more drag. Increased drag requires more energy to whip the tube behind the boat and causes a slower, less exciting ride. In general, most larger tubes a) are less lively, b) are harder to whip, c) require more energy to tow, and d) cause more strain on the boat. SOLUTION: HO SPHERE TECHNOLOGY™ Given the problem above, designing large tubes has typically meant creating a larger version of a smaller existing tube. Patented HO Sphere Technology™, however, opens up doors to a whole new way of thinking. The problem of drag is solved by reducing the surface area contacting the water. This design process is evident in the HO Molecule, Molecule 2D and Molecule 3S tubes. These Sphere Technology™ tubes have large spheres arrayed at the corners of the main deck. The spheres suspend the deck of the tube off of the surface of the water, leaving the bottom of the spheres as the main point of contact with the water. The result is a) a more lively ride, b) large size, yet easy to whip, c) less energy required to tow, and d) less strain on the boat. CRONUT TUBE TECHNOLOGY Donut tubes have been around since the beginning. In the early days folks would put a strap around a truck tire inner tube and tow it behind the boat. Eventually ski companies started making donuts with a nylon cover and a tow hook to attach your ski rope. Tube designs have changed rapidly over the years, but one thing has remained constant and unchanged…the donut tube! The design team at HO asked ourselves: what can be done to improve a donut? New for 2015, HO

FUN TUBES

is proud to introduce the Cronut series of inflatables, a tapered donut shape that represents a cross between a croissant and a donut. Cronuts have two tow hooks, one on each end of the tube. When in the seated position the thicker half of the tube acts as a backrest giving the rider a more natural, ergonomic riding position. Flip the tube around for lay down riding and the rider’s torso is at an elevated angle giving the rider a more comfortable ride than a traditional donut tube.

SLALOM SKIS

A Course Skier skis primarily in the slalom course and in the tournament arena. Their ski feature needs include tight angle turns and responsive agility to handle maximum speed and load.

A Cross Skier skis part time in courses and part time in the open water. This skier aspires to move up to the course arena or often skis at settings where no course is available. Their ski feature needs include efficiency and versatility.

A Free skier skis primarily in open water such as big lakes and rivers. Their ski feature needs include carve-ability and range, as their ski needs to cut through the most diverse waters and keep the ride smooth and free.
