Through my education and work experience, I have learned that design is so much more than beautiful spaces. Great design affects everyone in every aspect of life. I believe that functional, carefully planned design is as important to an individual’s wellbeing as any other vital part of life. Healthcare design has become increasingly intriguing to me because of this and I look forward to sharing my healthcare project upon completion. Fully immersing myself and building relationships with all the wonderful people in the industry for the past two years has helped me become so excited for my future. I know that working in a creative, team environment is where I best thrive and there is no aspect of my experience so far that I have not enjoyed.

D E S I G N S TAT E M E N T : Experience, Comfort & Sustainability are at the heart of Plaza En. Located in the Old Boston, Massachusetts Meatpacking district, this renovated 1890s warehouse will be transformed into a cutting edge, business class hotel, reflecting the City of Boston itself. The Design is inspired by the old and the new, pulling materials and textures from vintage androgynous fashion, blended into today’s interpretation. The Goal of Plaza En is for each guest to feel totally encompassed by the rich history of the city throughout their entire stay and to offer the best user experience possible while at the same time maintaining a small environmental footprint.

Con-Man’s Tearoom & Lounge is a high-end, rooftop tearoom overlooking Manhattan’s Central Park. The design concept is derived from the movie American Hustle, set in the 1970s at the Plaza Hotel. The design intent is for Con-Man’s to exist in a remodeled, neoclassical style building while blending in mid-centry modern design elements with colors typical in the 1970s while maintaining a fresh and unique look for this century. The function and circulation of the space is centered around employee needs with server stations placed throughout and wide walkways for peak efficency. Guests and tourists will have a unique experience with a variety of seating options and even be able to observe the in-house growing of tea from the rooftop patio and sunroom. Con-Man’s Tearoom & Lounge is like nothing currently existing in New York City.
