Dedicated to Grammi To the true artist of our family. I love and miss you everyday. Thank you for always believing in and teaching me to pursue my dreams. Lastly, thank you teaching me how to live my best life.

Vocational Questions & Answers Over the past two years I am most proud of getting into St. Norbert. I am not the best student and I worked so hard to get here and I could not be more proud of where I am. I wanted to make my family and myself proud. I am confident to say that I have achieved that goal.

My biggest failure has to be junior year of high school. That year all around was very hard. Mentally I was extremely lost. I was going through the hardest and most stressful year of high school. On top of that the death of my grandma, whom this is dedicated to, was extremely hard on me.

Crash Course Project Description This project was simply one day and it took place on the first day of class. We partnered up and then proceed to interview our partner and help them with a problem they were facing. We then created a solution for our partner in order to achieve their goal and solve their problem at hand.

Reflection Answer Engaging with a real person made the prototype personal and geared towards the solution my partner was looking for. It was easier to gear it towards my partner and create a prototype of what she can do in order to get TikTok famous. Showing unfinished work to my partner was awful. Timing was obviously a huge factor to the delivery of the prototype. The style of the prototype was not a personal favorite as well. The pace was very fast and borderline overwhelming to the process. The very quick cycles of work time did not give me the opportunity to truly try my absolute best in order to give a decent prototype but also in life it shows how the process of working on products takes time and care. Personally, I do not find that design is iterative. I think of professional artists or authors who make a great piece after 10 years of working on it. Then 10 years later we’re seeing yet another piece by them. Slowly build up the product into a new and improved process of getting her TikTok famous.

Dot/Line Project Project Description This project took place at the beginning of the semester. The goal was to relay three different emotions using strictly dots and lines. We were giving instructions on how many lines, dots, and a solid one or the other to again relay a certain emotion.

Reflection Answers Gestalt is the idea or interpretation of imagery. It relates due to the ability to interpret our classmates’ project and see an image through lines and dots. I wish to have more time to focus on the details and have the ability to truly perfect the craft of which we are working on. The project pushed my knowledge of abstract within my own work. After making the thumbnails and playing around physical dots and lines I was able to keep with ideas. It was hard trying to illustrate the word exhaustion multiple times. I can see how this project can push creative boundaries of what may come of my career.

I did mess up during this project by neglacting the two other words I chose and focusing only on exhaustion.

Letterform Project Description This project was all about the artform of letterform. The class had the chance to practice handlettering and the process of using letter stencils to focus on a singular word.

Reflection Answers My situation was unique since being in quarantine. Nonetheless, I learned the precise nature of letterform. Most things you can always come across struggles, which I did. I had never realized how much goes into making signs/lettering. I am very much impressed with those who are able to master this skill. I would like to have the ability to print and expand on my idea that was presented through my work. I would like to play around with varying each composition more and creating even a new idea to pain.

Object Iteration Project Description This project we picking an object that has motion and applied it to those artforms below. We focused on many varying artforms. Those artforms being: continous line drawings, collages, type collages, geometric drawings, and two master artists of our choosing.

Reflection Answers Through this process I learned about how special dolphins are. They have many aspects that makes them playful, childlike, yet intelligent creatures. Through this project we were faced with many types of media, many of which were new to me. The media that was most challenging was the type collage. It was hard to use black, grey, and white images with text to create and represent a Dolphin. My favorite media was creating a Banksy piece based on dolphins and making a “graffiti type form. I still have to play around with photoshop more and figure out how to use all the tools. I do believe that I will use it in the future. Whether it is for projects for school or personal projects of my own. If this project were to have lasted longer I would definitely find new iterations to show the dolphins bodies or silhouettes and new ways to better incorporate my master artists.

Psa Posters Project Description The PSA posters project was the first project of its kind. This project we selected a topic which we believe needs more attention therefore the type only PSA poster. The difference is we were to give our topic and information to a partner who would then design a poster for us. This project showed our skills as if we were doing business with these partners.

Reflection Answers Being limited to only type was very a challenge through this project. It was hard not to show a visual in order to get the message across especially since my topic was about road safety relating to motorcycles and peoples negligence towards cyclists. For visual hierarchy I used the scale of the font in order to fill in any excessive negative space. I wanted to have something eye-catching in order to get a reader’s attention which is why I used reverse texts for the title and subheading. Through this project I learned how important hierarchy is in order to get a reader’s attention and how that can truly effect the message one is trying to relay.

Artist Presentation Project Description This was the 20x20 Designer project for this project my classmates and I were to pick a designer we found interesting. Then create a 20 slide presentation in which each slide we talked for 2o seconds. We discussed their career and their importance as designers.

Reflection Answers I was drawn to my Takashi Murakami because of his style mixing and the overall bright colors he uses. He also has so many popular collaborations I found it hard not to be drawn to his work. Although I was not in class I was still nervous to present. I was excited to talk about someone who I genuinely love and really wanted my classmates to look further into his work.
