Each year, members contribute over £35,000, raising valuable income towards delivering a high quality artistic programme and helping to maintain our unique venue. Dear Friends Welcome to the Summer 2014 season at The Farm We’ve got a packed programme for you of comedy, music, cabaret, film, drama, exhibitions and classes. There’s something on every day from Tuesday to Sunday. This Summer, the ever popular Maidenhead Beach at Norden Farm has got a new addition - a brand new indoor arts and crafts area in a magical underwater themed environment, complete with mermaids, sea monsters, and creatures that live beneath the waves. Like the rest of the Beach, entry is free, and it runs throughout the summer holidays. Now is a great time to become a Member at Norden Farm. Don’t forget that the secret comedy gigs do not appear in this brochure - you have to be a Member to get priority booking on these special events. Recent comedians who haven’t appeared in the brochure include Miranda Hart, Jimmy Carr and Al Murray.

The Tempest An encore screening of the 2011 production from the Stratford Festival in Canada. Christopher Plummer stars as Prospero in this culminating masterpiece of Shakespeare’s career.

Jimmy Lee (guitar, vocals) cut his teeth alongside folk legends Ralph McTell, Cliff Aungier, Alex Campbell and Johnny Silvo among others. Over the years Jimmy has developed a style of music that is packed with emotion and played with a rare simplicity. He is joined by Jon Wigg (fiddle, mandolin, banjo), Clare Juliet (piano, accordion), Melanie Wells (cello) and Gary Holder (double bass).

Direct from the US. Three piece band The Sounds of The Supremes features Kaaren Ragland who joined Mary Wilson’s Supremes in 1977. They are joined by special guest Jimmy Britt, a singer, trumpeter, songwriter and producer. Jimmy has worked with The Temptations and Josh Groban. They are all supported by a five piece band.

The Rt. Hon. Professor Shirley Williams is a politician and academic. She co-founded the Liberal Democrats and has been a member of the House of Lords since 1993. An MP for nearly twenty years, she was a member of the Cabinet for five years. Baroness Williams is also a Professor Emeritus at The John F Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and was adviser to Gordon Brown on issues of nuclear proliferation.

Shahrazad is a lively young girl who is torn between her old home in the East and her new life in England. She retells the extraordinary stories of her childhood to her new friend, who doesn’t understand a single word she says. Mississippi born Lisa Mills is a gifted singer, guitarist and songwriter. She is well grounded in her blues based, soulfully delivered original music. Lisa has worked with Robert Plant and Jeff Beck among others and performed at the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival, Glastonbury. She is joined by Ian Jennings, her long time performing partner.

Bluegrass from the Home Counties. The band have extended to a five piece with the addition of a fiddle player. Nick Pynn and Kate Daisy Grant Fri 29 Aug 8pm The multi-award winning duo perform an array of folk and pop music. They are known for their live looping and curiosity instruments, created from homemade/ found objects. Both the live-looped avantfolk of Nick and the storytelling toy-folk-pop of Kate have been featured on radio, TV and film.

Artefact brings together the diverse practise of three young photographers who explore “Artefact” as an idea through a visual reflection of contemporary urban life and a gripping portrayal of the self. James Meek highlights a disappearing yet grand industrial South. Emily Rowan transforms discovered artworks into re-worked photographic artefacts while Brigita Zizyte’s constructed isolation materialises creative block into a tangible reality.

Disabled Access All performance and workshop spaces at Norden Farm provide total accessibility for those with disabilities. There are lifts throughout the Centre, as well as ramped access and adapted toilet facilities. There is also an infra red system in the Courtyard Theatre for customers with hearing difficulties.
