HELLO

I am Kayleigh, the Education Officer here at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts, Maidenhead, running the department with Jess. I have enjoyed working with Maidenhead schools for the last 5 years. I’m more than happy to answer any queries and book in your workshops, just drop me a message!

The Farm Out programme for the 2024 - 2025 academic year includes workshops that have been handpicked for you, giving your students the chance to work on large 3D visual arts projects, learn new techniques, use new equipment or instruments and work collaboratively in the classroom.

All of the workshops we offer are led by professional, experienced arts practitioners. They are all experienced in working with school children and are DBS checked.

Don’t miss our special projects which run throughout the year including Lantern Making for the Lantern Parade, the Quest Family Fest Schools Project and Kite Making for the Summer Kite Festival.

I hope that there is something in this brochure which your students and team will enjoy. Seen something you fancy and want to tailor it to your current teaching? Let me know and I can speak to our artists to help make the perfect workshop for you and your students.

If you have any questions about the Farm Out programme, or about what Norden Farm can offer, please get in touch.

This workshop can be booked as a stand alone session or as a 6 week course. Wellbeing Animation would be best suited to a smaller group of select students.

Students will have the opportunity to work as a team, learn new skills and turn their stories into an inspiration through animation. This workshop can be part of a PSHE, ART or ICT lesson.

These workshops are a great benefit to students who may be suffering from loneliness, anxiety, low self esteem, SEN or those who may simply want to experience something new. The students will create stories based on true experiences and think of ways to overcome negative inner thoughts and turn them into positive ones. The animation technique is called rotoscope which is a simple yet effective form of animation for any ability. The participants will create a story around the topic ‘thoughts inside of me’, enabling them to explore their emotions and express their thoughts creatively.

WORK EXPERIENCE

At Norden Farm we have a strong commitment to encouraging young people's involvement in the arts

Work experience placements run from Tuesday - Friday and allow a student to work with all of the departments, (Box Office, Front Of House, Catering, Technical, Marketing and Education). The week includes 2 evening shifts. We can offer 1 placement a month during May - Jul and Sept - Oct (This is subject to change)

As you can imagine we become very oversubscribed for placements and therefore prioritise students who go to school/college within the RBWM area first, and then, if placements are still available, to other areas We also recommend submitting your application as early as possible.

Students who have a demonstrative interest in the arts will be prioritised. As part of the selection process applicants need to submit a review of a live performance or exhibition, they have seen at Norden Farm within 2 months of their application.

If you are interested in work experience here, please head to the Norden Farm website to fill in the application form!
