Wine Routes of Chalkidiki, 4 days!
We invite you to explore the beautiful region of Chalkidiki through the wine-touristic network of “wine routs of northen Greece” to visit the famous peninsulas : Kasandra, Sithonia, Athos and its country side. The combination of nature traditional tastes and the unique wines will fascinate you.
1st day Arrival in Thessaloniki.Pick up your car from the car rental office at the airport. Drive to your hotel in the city center and check in.Overnight. 2nd day Departure from the centre of Thessalonica in the morning for the winery “Tsantali” in Arios Pavlos (45 min). Tour and wine taste (1.5-2hours ). Departure for Nea Genia (10 min). Tour and wine tasting to the “vineyard house Kazatzaki” for local delicate flavours(45 miin). Then you can lunch at the restaurant “I Sousourada ke o Skatzoxiros” in Afitos or “I Platia tis Anthulas” in Kriopigi.Nea Genia to Afitos (40 min) to Kriopigi (50 min). Departure to Paliouri to sweam in the clear blue waters 30 min away from Afitos and 20 min from Kriopigi. For your stay you can choose between the hotels “Porto Valitsa” and “Akritas ef Zin”. 3rd day Departure for domaine Porto Karas to Sithonia of Chalkidiki with a stop in Afitos for a walk and coffee to wine bar “Inohoi” . Paliouri to Porto Karas (1.5 hours). Tour to the vineyards and winery of the domaine and wine tasting in the special room “Melisanthi” (2-3 hours). Stop to swim in one of the beautiful beaches of the region. For lunch we recommend one of the restaurants of Porto Karas or the restaurant “Platanorema” (30 min). Departure for Megali Panagia (30 min) and coffee at the farmstead “Platanorema”. Departure for the domain Claudia Papagianni in Arnea. (15 min). Tour to the vineyard and wine tasting (1.5 hours). For your stay we recommend the palace “Viraggas” in Vrastama and the massifs of “Apolimeni Petra” and “Farma” in Taxiarhi which are located 15 and 30 min from Poligiros. Wine Routes of Chalkidiki, 4 days! 4th day Departure for Thessaloniki airport.Can drop off and return flight. Should you wish to stay more days and visit Athos peninsula we recommend hotel “Liotopi” in Olimpiada.On the way to Chalkidiki there are the vineyards “Tsantali” in Metohi of Chromitsa, Agion oros and vinery of Milopotamos, Metohi of the monastery of Megisti Lavrias. The entrance of Agion Oros can only be permited to men. For the ladies we recommend a cruise to gulf of Agion Oros.
