CREATIVE WRITING

COMPETITION in collaboration with UEA and The Book Hive THEME The Passing of Time WORD COUNT 1000 words max. AGE 14 - 25 years DEADLINE Friday 13 December We would like to invite young people across Norfolk to enter our Norfolk & Norwich Festival Young Writers Competition 2020. We are looking for eager and talented writers to enter creative writing pieces based on ‘The Passing of Time’, reflecting the approach of the Festival’s 250th anniversary in 2022. Entries can be fiction, non-fiction or prose, and three winners will be selected by a judging panel including representatives from UEA, The Book Hive and Norfolk & Norwich Festival. The winning entries will be illustrated by Illustration students at Norwich University of the Arts and displayed in The Book Hive window during Norfolk & Norwich Festival 2020. DISCOVER! CREATIVE CAREERS WEEK DATE Monday 18 - Friday 22 November 2019 COST Free AGE Secondary School LOCATION At your school/Norfolk & Norwich Festival Office Discover! Creative Careers is a week-long event launching this year which will see hundreds of employers from across the creative industries opening their doors to students aged 11 and over. Norfolk & Norwich Festival team will invite students to take part in interactive experiences across various departments, giving students meaningful encounters with Norfolk & Norwich Festival staff and providing information and insight into some of the lesser-known jobs that exist across the creative industries. Schools will also be provided with a Discover! Creative Career pack which will contain information and resources to support their Discover! experience.
