DT Light-Post®
ILLUSION® Color-On-Command Technology
X-RO®
eXtra RadiOpaque fiber
The D.T. Light-Post is an advanced fiber post that adapts to the contours of the prepared or over-prepared canal. Each post size has TWO separate apical tapers, based on scientific, anatomical measurements, and a parallel coronal section.
Designed at the University of Montreal, and introduced in 2001, DT Light-Post is the subject of over 130 published studies, including long-term clinical trials.

•
Exclusive patented (X-RO) fibers, provide high strength, fatigue resistance and radiopacity (340% of Al), for resistance, peace of mind
•
As a fiber-reinforced composite, it cannot corrode and it is biocompatible.
•
Double-Tapered apical section conserves dentin and eliminates internal stress angles
•
The parallel coronal section provides maximum strength in the cervical and restorative zones
•
Micro-retentive surface offers push-out retention comparable to parallel metal posts
•
Available with patented Illusion technology; to match post-to-drill, and to reduce confusion & ease removal, if necessary

Root canals are rarely round; oval spaces are more common than round ones. Endodontic treatment and re-treatment can leave an over-prepared, compromised tooth with an ovoid and profoundly tapered space. Circular post systems are only eective in the most apical portion of the post space, because the majority of prepared post spaces demonstrate considerable flare in the occlusal half.Macro-Lock OVAL reduces the amount of cement, displacing it with high-performance fiber-reinforced composite.

General Post Placement Technique: The graphics below illustrate the BASIC steps for placement of the Macro-Lock Post. The clinician should always consult the Instructions For Use which are included in every package.
See clinical step-by-step case studies at www.rtddental.com
Matchpost™ The Matchpost is a basic glass fiber post design that has an apical taper, and a parallel coronal section for strength in the critical cervical area. In addition, the surface of the post is micro-mechanical, for excellent bonding and long-term retention.
Available in four sizes, the Matchpost is RTD’s most economical system.
Why use Matchpost? •
Elastic Modulus (13 GPa) like dentin, for mechanical compatibility with tooth structure, prevention of root fracture
•
Proprietary glass fibers, provide high strength, fatigue resistance and radiopacity (200% of Al), for resistance, peace of mind
•
As a fiber-reinforced composite, it cannot corrode and it is biocompatible.
•
Tapered apical section conserves dentin and eliminates internal stress angles
•
The parallel coronal section provides maximum strength in the cervical and restorative zones
•
Neutral shading for maximum light transmission

Quartz Splint™
Quartz Splint is a range of 4 presentations, with overlapping indications, according to preference and specific clinical demands. QS is made from a different Quartz fiber than our popular posts, and is prewetted with light-cured methacrylic resin at the factory so that it chemically bonds to most composites and acrylics.
Independent studies confirm Flexural and Shear Bond Strength superior to glass and polyethylene fiber products, and it does not “wick". The QS Family has a myriad of EVERY DAY uses in the dental practice or dental laboratory: • Splinting mobile teeth, from trauma or gum disease/bone loss • Reinforcing composite or acrylic bridgework • Reinforcing and repair of acrylic dentures and partials, in the clinic OR the laboratory • Reinforcing Implant Registration Keys • Creating custom-formed endodontic posts (with or without a prefabricated “Master” post)
Why use Quartz Splint? •
Pre-wetting at the factory saves time, materials, promotes consistency, prevents errors and voids
•
The high-performance Quartz fibers provide high strength and increases the strength of the composite or acrylic
•
“Near-Zero” memory in Rope and Woven stays where it is put, allows easier manipulation, placement
•
Cannot corrode like metal wires and mesh, for long life-span, no “show-through”
•
Low Elastic Modulus, like composite & acrylic, to prevent de-lamination, micro-leakage
•
Available with and without L/C resins, for a complete system with synergistic properties
•
Two year shelf-life allows inventory with peace of mind

Corecem™
Corecem is a dual-cure flowable hybrid composite for cementation of fiber posts and core build-ups (with or without a post).
Using the same material for both technique steps saves time, materials, eliminates one adhesive interface to facilitate a durable “monobloc” restoration.
Corecem is available in VITA® Shade A1, and it cuts like dentin
Why use Corecem? •
High mechanical properties, for long-term durability
•
Light-cure and self-cure catalysts for optimal depth-of-cure and peace of mind
•
Inclusion of Ytterbium Trifluoride nano particles means high radiopacity-for diagnostic accuracy
•
Available in A1 Vita shade and Corecem Blue, for easy-to-see margins
•
Compatible with all bonding agents, so it can be used in any practice
•
Available in 9G Mini-Mix syringes and in 42G auto-mix cartridges
•
Long, narrow Root Canal Tips provided for delivery to the bottom of the canal, to eliminate voids
Corecem Illusion is exactly like regular Corecem, except that it includes the patented Illusion Color-OnCommand technology. This presents as a BLUE composite while being manipulated, for easy contrast against natural tooth structure. After finishing, the BLUE color disappears, leaving a popular A1 shade. IF the core ever needs to be removed, cold water spray will make the contrasting BLUE color re-appear.
