One aims. One writes architecture

– สถาปัตยกรรม , in a poetical and logical trajectory with an aim to pursue the bliss of design . Milieu and humans, based on the interwoven connection, situations of the interdisciplinary, project and permeate via the innocuous apparatus –embedded with Venustus, Firmitas and Utilitas. Our desires as a humanity synchronize along with the syntax of buildings and purposes. From felicity towards beatitude, people as inhabitants engage in the realm of harmony, pathetic uses. With mere silence and echo, the aesthetic appears in the lantern of freedom .

DISORDER CITY

The Rebirth of The Dead Queenstown

Queenstown, Singapore

Published on Kooz’s magazine, KoozArch’s May

NUS DOA, media mentioned

City is the collective senses of inhabitants in which all circumstances combine to perform the daily performances in a uniqueness. Queenstown was the first movement of housing development in Singapore, in some argument, tabula rasa in the case that every performance of the city is in control. Alas the new development is the palimpsest on the old tabula rasa, seeming likely the orderly controlled city is in hands of new growth. The new high-rise buildings replaced all the old ground areas. Life is extruding up, reaching to the sky by leaving tragic ground in death, lacking movement of life.

The Disorder City is the critique project in order to implement the sense of disorderliness, in other words, the lively street and flourishing urbanity. The ground vitalization occurs in the existing urban area, within various programs and free situations combining with three key-strategies, Emptiness, Catalyst and Network. With this project, the new disorder city, like a flower, can be grown by the nourished ground towards the architecture of happiness.

Right : The composite diagram of the project

The day of wind and autumn sign As the sun asked the cloud to shine. The flower of vivid dawn shall lay On ground with merely dirty clay.

O Kalos the son of puberty cheek Walks on the way of life, then seeks For a clear answer of the atmosphere. The Strathmore gotta say some cheer.

Here is the league of legend. Nobody knows the tales of event Playing some dice, as one’s born. The clear pure answer won’t be gone.

In vacancy one see the norm of behaviors, As the past holds the tightness of the future.

The population is the main hallmark to intensify density. However the monotonous urban planning, strictful zoning, generates the causes of death in use. Queenstown can populate density in quantitative aspects but in terms of qualitative functions, it might not be powerful. The ground vitalization plays the catalyst on the daily uses. Due to the high-rise living, people need the horizontal interaction for diversity in the city, promoting the sensibility of social engagement, and creating disorderly vibrant urbanity.

Emptiness : articulates the functional free situations for people to engage with the free of uses : markets, concerts, events and multi purpose scenarios.

Catalyst : is the sorts of planned functions and programs in order to stimulate the use in the area.

Network : enlivens the connection between the residential areas and the vitalized disorder programs which means the circulation where the journeys of people are varied.

MAGIC MEDIUM MILIEU

Shamanistic Dialogue with Ritualistic Architecture

The course of magic can be varied, obscured, utilized and investigated through times and events along human history. The functionality holded in the power of magic, has destined the unappealed situations of social structure where love, might, right and desire are mere the issues realized by magic. So to speak, milieu reconciles the state of magic in the treadmill, ordinariness of everyday life. The medium of this discourse has been shown on the charismatic actor, “Shaman” whose meaning is the one who knows. Shamanism is embedded into the trajectory of animistic view and spiritual method. Sociologically, those activities and spaces by shamanic character draw interest on the principality of architecture where humans (self) interact via the sacredly obscure transition within the concrete physicality (building).

The obsolete house of Bang Rak district, disguising dully with the local street, within the long ordinary history per se, senses the soul of the place via a mere body as a destructively architectural figuration. The question intervenes to the existence by the course of shamanistic magic, if one individual can implement on the changing appearances of the figurative house, or to sacredly reimagine the soul via the new body.

Left Below : Ritualistic adaptable model
Right Below : Shamanism analysis

The state called “Trance”, is the key function of shamans to connect those two worlds together. Afterward, from self connecting with the world and spiritual world, a synchronization formurates the dialogue of one and oneself via the medium (Shamanic Architecture) in order to be questioned and merely endless answers.

This project (Urban-shaman & Ritualistic Architecture) investigates the question of healing the suffering by marking on the concept on shamanistic activities within the tools of architecture. Towards self-healing systems, the dialogue between one and oneself, via model making, manipulates the conditions of self-observation.

Dialogue is the process of ongoing situations, with finally somehow endless argument. The house (memories) is the place for conversion. Combined with assembly, disassembly and reassembly, the interaction of architecture can be varied via chants interpreted by surrounding conditions and the needs of individuals in the form of poems. This ritualistic architecture creates the free space of questions. It loosens the preconceived notions on architecture with the ambiguous realm. It could speak something that each personal identity realizes in different scenarios when architecture is kindly open for arguments. If there is any kind of magic in our existence, it should be in the attempt of understanding someone sharing something.

Museum is the space where all thoughts and inspirations populate with the socially positive changes. Space needs to enliven the validity of individual minds given by the causes of experience through environmental physicality and time. This project reflects the needs of conceived space of thought, when Bangkok still lacked the museum for its own citizens.

The persuasion on the concept is interlinked with the site surrounding, the landscape of the lake and public park. The interpretation of activities in the area are primarily activated with the design and methodologies. Art can be varied via the diversity of the spaces while events and occasions are also adaptive through the synchronization of plural aims in the museum.

Residential Program for Art&Culture student

The conditions of living, nowaday need to be revised in terms of social coherence and a vital environment. In the word of generosity, architecture is not Adam in the hands of god, in other words, architect, but rather the mirror to reflect the pureness and purpose of humanity. Without the architecture of happiness, one can only be a desperate man, then take a journey of unbearable experiences, with the gloom of severe sentiment. The project wants to be a hallmark of a new paradigm, promoting the noble and novel situations of living by celebrating the taste of freedom, allowing people to be a part of architecture itself, decreasing the ego of one who holds the right to design architecture.

Architecture Freedom

Art&Culture Dormitory

Art & Culture Dormitory is the project to critically examine the conditions of students, especially the students from the art & culture faculty, including faculty of architecture, faculty of fine and applied arts and faculty of liberal arts. Along the sequences of the spaces, the project marks a conversation of vitality, imagination, life, expression, connectivity and communication to create the creative community which considers the function of use, the space of freedom and the context of existential surroundings. These points of architecture are the interaction between physical and psychological terms. They hold the subjectivity of ideas by embracing the real use, and understanding of those who live in.

All programs are provided for the situations of art & culture students with the respect of their needs indeed. To create joy and connection, to promote the sense of community, co-working space and sharing studio enhance those powers of uniqueness. Exhibition zone arms the ability to be self-esteem, representing their works, and becomes the implementation of those art & culture students. For the sensibility of actual needs, the acts of users are primarily concerned with , toward the architecture of happiness.

WALL AS AN EX(IN)CLU-

Critique on The Inequality in Bangkok

The primary research focused on the term of exclusion. The main investigation brings the variety of existence of the wall as a regulation to exclude people in the conflicts of social circumstances. The walls were identified in various types of condition to answer the question about the duty and consequence of architecture. The conclusion is that we can perceive the wall as an omnipresent element and in the terms of conflict, walls are usually utilized in a negative way. When the site is Bangkok, the question is, what is the exclusion in Bangkok? From the questionnaire that general people answer, the inequalities are the most obvious problem. Inequality is the hallmark of the cities in both the developed and developing world. It can cause exclusion by class, race, gender, or ethnicity. It increases vulnerability to disasters. It results in uneven access to housing, health, employment, education, and income.

Klong Toey, Bangkok
Final Crit’s Student Mention Award

Architecture Society Inequality Unity

The critique proposal is to turn the wall as a negative element to be positive, instead of exclusion, it enhancedly connects and unites those different conditions of living. The wall aimfully holds the community and the privileged districts together. It will provide many opportunities for accessibilities such as the houses for homeless people, the public libraries, learning centers and well constructed pathwalks for the better transportation. For now, it aims exclusively developing a speculative analysis through the section, with references to the convention of how walls have always been represented questionably in architecture.

SOCIONATURAL MONUMENT

Supercrit’s

In order to tackle the CO2 issue, we need to utilize the tools of humanity which are political and social interaction. The notion of realizing a meaning of our ecology needs to be embedded into the consciousness of people. I still believe in the power of architecture that reflects the aspects of each society and at the same time has become a physical existence which also regulates our behaviors. While saying this, it means that architecture enhances the ability of human strategies. It has been the tools of humanity since the birth of the homo sapien. By utilizing human technologies combined with the aspects of physical social norm, the proposal advises the mayor of Bangkok, Pol. Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, the socio-natural monuments that will prolong as a strategy for the next ten years.

Sanam

These monuments are able to work as a sacred space for people to notice and of course will embed subconsciously into their mindsets that they are also a part of nature and ecosystems. It hopes that finally, by this project, people will be more environmentally aware and engage in fewer behaviors that would lead to the destruction of the environment. The passive behavioral conditions, as monuments can do for human history, allow the coincidental functions occurring in the treadmills of people for betterment in environmental concerns.

: A Classroom for Rural Mountainous Students

Phee Parn Tai, Omkoi district, Chiang

Chief Execuctive of 86th ASA Pattana

Chonnabot

In Thailand, there are still undeveloped areas in the fringe of social territory where the quality of life such as education and infrastructure is unreachable to the needs. The rural areas have inferior chances to get good life conditions.

ASA Pattana Chonnabot has been organizing since 50 years ago with many hands of architectural students of the Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University. The organization is the internally inclusive activity for students to utilize skills in school sharing resources to the local community in the rural areas around Thailand. It aims to build buildings as basic needs and spaces for community’s uses. Furthermore it also intensifies solidarity among the architectural students.

Norrawich had been helping for organization since 2015, and once got a chance to perform as the chief executive for the 86th ASA Pattana Chonnabot organization(2022) which corroborated in the local area, Omkoi, Chiang Mai to build the classroom for mountainous students whose educative tools were in required. The project has occurred for three weeks, with limited construction tools and the restricted electricity. The structure relies on the basis of human skills and craftsmanship along with the spirit of labor. Finally the kids in the rural village have a space to actively broad learn with the fine betterment.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

THE ROLLING PHUCHE

Portable Desk

Portable Room

Bangkok

Nominated Student Project

Under current situations, our habitation has been changing in various new paradigms of situation. The Rolling Psuche marks an implementation of changing by the actions as a state of rotation. “Psuche” means ‘soul-life’, in which this device performs an act of moving soul, beyonding the sense of conventional action. The conventional and ubiquitous tables or devices usually perform the static state with a movement of our body. My table questions to those norms, and wants to create a living object, the device embracing soul itself with the intension of lively variety.

Ceramicist,

Starting with the observation of worker (ceramicist), to analyze the appearances of object relating with the soul (the spirit of craftman), the portable desk carries the spirit of realmless imagination, or it rather proposes the power of portable room instead, in which all activities in the conventional interior embed in such one single device. With this portable room, one can escape from the boring still state of ordinary table, rolling this soul from inside toward outside (house to urban), performing, exhibiting and enjoying the variety of joy.

URBAN SHAMAN

Shamanistic Device

: The Investigation of Self Reflexion

Shamanism, Bangkok

Student Exellence Award

The act of shamanism is a key-combination between the unknown world and the reality world. This shamanistic device, as a mimicry of shaman, is a primordial architecture of the next phase, Ritualistic Architecture (page 10). The project aims to base the structural pattern of these phenomena of magic, the act of shamanism, via the physical manifestation of such in space and equipment within religionism and spiritualism in a sense of architectural phenomena. The meta-sensory, superstition of these experiences, somehow can interpret the engineered operation of consciousness especially in a modern capitalist world where sacred belief is rare, and bare with the commercial theme. Magic as an inquiry of architectural techniques, willingly formalizing a wily principle of a new architecture theme, the valid realm of new sensory.

Self-awareness

Urbanity

Basically the purpose of shamans is to help people from the suffering by the programmatic engineered imagination, the internal change of self-awareness. This Urban Shaman imitates functions and spaces of shamanism, and principally settles the idea of self-interaction, promoting the conversation between inner consciousness and subconsciousness. All five sensations disperse to the design of the device whose audiences fully engage. It acts as a connection between individuals and surroundings or buildings, in other words the soul of the space and the personal memory.
