Notes from the Director

In January 2020, we started to hear about COVID-19, but it was not impacting our lives yet. Fast forward two years and everyone’s life has been impacted. I was recently looking back at some of the early decisions the library made.

At the time, we thought it would be a few weeks or a month before we could return to in-person programming and regular services. But, of course, that was not the case. We are now starting to emerge from having COVID-19 dominate every decision in our lives.

We began offering some programs in the building this past September, and we resumed in-person technology classes in November. We know not everyone is ready to return to in-person programming, so we will continue to offer virtual programming. We are also moving forward in other areas as well.

In November, the Library Board welcomed new trustee, Stacy Oliver. We are also working closely with the Village to move forward with the Climate Action Plan, which was adopted by the Library Board earlier this year.

I don’t know everything that 2022 will bring, but I know that the library will continue adjusting to meet the needs of the community. I hope you and yours have a safe new year.
