Dear Northbrook Residents, November is a time of giving thanks. As a librarian and a director, I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to work in such a supportive and welcoming community. I am also thankful that we live in a town where we have access to such great resources, not only at the Library, but also through the Village, Schools, Park District, Chamber, YMCA and so many other wonderful organizations. At the Library, we are proud of our partnerships with organizations like the Historical Society and Go Green Northbrook, which help to further strengthen an already great community. As I continue to learn more about Northbrook and participate in organizations like Rotary, I am amazed over and over again by what great opportunities there are to learn and connect with new people and new things. Lastly, I am thankful for the chance to work in a profession I love that allows me to serve residents in the community. I wake up every morning and know that I am going to work at a place that values connecting people with resources, services, and each other. I wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for your continued support of the Library. Kate Hall Executive Director

News Friends of the
The Friends derive revenue from member dues and income from our bookshop. When our treasury reaches a certain degree of solvency, we ask the Library for a “wish list” that guides us in determining what to fund. Most recently, the Friends granted money to purchase and install the Auditorium’s lift. We thank all of our current members, and we ask them to be sure to renew membership when the time comes. We can always use more volunteers in the bookshop. Nonmembers, consider joining the Friends and becoming part of the patronage responsible for making a great library even better.
