What is the PREMIER
SCHOLARS PROGRAM?
The Premier Scholars Program (Premier) serves a diverse group of incoming first-year students. As a Premier Scholar, you’ll create incredible memories and build lasting friendships with your peers, faculty, staff and Premier Team Leader. Premier serves students in two capacities:
• The head-start Summer Program
• During the academic year Both sections are free of charge for students .
Tell me more about the summer program. Premier kicks off with a 10-day summer experience, giving you the opportunity to become acclimated to college life and prepare you for your start at North Central. Through an exciting combination of academic exeriences, leadership training and recreation, you will build connections with our professors, staff, College alumni and fellow students. Sample classes and one-on-one mentoring opportunities with your assigned Premier Team Leader are also unique and valuable components to Premier, ensuring that you will have a fully established network of support as you head into Fall semester.
What about during the academic year?
As a Premier Scholar, you’ll meet throughout the academic year to talk about your experiences, reconnect with your peers and meet with your mentor from the summer component.

PREMIER SCHOLARS:
Become familiar with campus, the Naperville community and Chicagoland area. Build a social network by attending events with other Premier Scholars. Transition smoothly to college life with our targeted workshops and dedicated support system.
Individual mentoring sessions with Premier Team Leaders to discuss personal goals and developmen
Program Workshops
Academic support: building effective relationships with your professors
Health and wellness: importance of emotional, mental and physical health
Financial services: finding an on-campus job, organizing personal finances
College life: handling culture shock, time management, diversity
Community building: interactive group activities could include game nights, karaoke, movie nights, and more
Is there a cost to participate?
It is free to participate in the Premier Scholars Program.
AM I ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN PREMIER?
You are eligible to participate in Premier if you are going to college for the first time and any of the following apply to you:
• You have an underrepresented racial or ethnic background
• You’re a first-generation college student
• You face economic hardship
