Happy New Year! May 2025 bring you health, joy and success in your professional and personal endeavors. I am so pleased to introduce our January Anna Maria Textiles collections. With such a wonderful reception to our inaugural launch last September, this season, I step forward with just a bit more comfort in my place as Design Director. At the core of the new collections remains my devotion to tried-and-true fabric styles, jaw-dropping orals and naturally beautiful yet unexpected textural interest. In short, we have it all!
The new soft and bright shades of Indelible make it seem as though we let the sunlight shine on this collection of reorderable beauties. Then we have Jumpstart, a owerpopping collection that is my homage to my rst experience starting a ower garden from seed. Next, Perennial Borders delivers exactly that—an always perfect collection of prints that can serve as beautifully as borders as they do stand-alone feature prints. All three of these quilting cotton collections are again sorted into Vintage, Cheery and Lush colorways. And my Bespoke Quilt No. 2 this season features the Cheery colorway and is offered as a kit.
We also have two beautiful collections that offer even more reasons for adventurous makers to sew with AMT! The Narrative collection of nine fabrics continues my love of woven goods. I’ve worked very closely with our mills on these weave structures to bring you something very unique and special—perfect to support exciting fashion explorations. The Silhouette collection of cotton/linen fabrics is lled with natural beauty and inspires some of my favorite projects for home and embroidery. I designed these two collections in the same three colorway categories, however they stand on their own in our project inspiration.

As I adventure into new territories with my art, I took a turn towards soft and gentle for some new colors of Indelible. All the same hand drawn orals that you love are now realized in a watercolor-esque palette. This softer assortment of color ranges from warm neutral, to cool neutral, to sunlit hues that feel as though light is beaming onto the original spectrum. These work together beautifully for modern patchwork (or even for baby) as well as highlighting some contrast when used alongside the original Indelible.

I chose a very simple but striking block to repeat for this Indelible quilt where I paired the new neutral Indelible pieces with the deeper and intense Indelible colors for an echo of form. The piecework is very straightforward and while the pattern recommends speci c fabric positions, there are plenty of graphic adventures that can be had with swapping around. My color layout creates an overall design that is front and center and captivating.

While the new lighter, brighter shades of Indelible would be lovely on their own for a spare or sweet contemporary quilt, I was excited to splash them up against some of the existing Indelible tones in the library. And for even more punctuation I have included the twelve “happy place” Northcott solids that I am working with this season. The pattern could not be more basic with quarter-square triangles, whole square patches and four patch blocks. But the rhythm of color moves around like a game board of fun.

My Jumpstart collection is an homage to my rst experience with starting my own owers from seed. From the tiniest of seeds, gorgeous blossomy blooms appeared with inspiring forms and colors. Zinnias, Silene, Bells of Ireland, and Celosia come together to celebrate their species in this bouquet of prints. I also paid tribute to the surprising diversity in my Dahlias by highlighting the center and petal details in the Stars & Stripes Print.

As this collection of fabrics celebrates growing big blooms from the tiniest of seeds, it was a fun opportunity to play with square-in-a-square style blocks that continue to change scale. A healthy amount of fussy cutting on this quilt is well worth the effort once you can take a break with simple block sewing. A beautiful patchwork garden is a well-earned reward and would easily grow to a king size with the addition of some Perennial Borders!
When something is tried and true you could say it is a perennial favorite. Perennial Borders combines some of my favorite prints with a few new pieces, but all freshened up to carry your quilting and crafting beauty to every edge! Some borders follow never-ending oral rows, some criss-cross in stripes, some zig and zag, others wave, and some scallop! Various scales and styles offer plenty of opportunities to combine these pieces with any AMT collection.

You could say I did the most obvious thing in designing a quilt for a collection of fabrics that is all about borders. However, I broke the log cabin rule here and there to grow the quilt from center to edge in a less than straight forward order. The result really shows you what these beautiful borders can do in a variety of widths and orientations. The pattern teaches repeat matching for pieced borders and the rest is extremely basic sewing.

The Rosebud Quilted Coat pattern is my newest Simple Start pattern for makers who want a beautiful, quilted layer in a timeless comfortable shape. While the coat is lined with a contrast fabric, it is quilted together from the beginning more like a quilt than a set in lining. Rounded hems layer and fold like a rosebud and are bound with edging. Side seams that are hidden with at binding and cuffs that turn to reveal the inside make the coat at once modern and nostalgic.
Introducing a delightful and unique cotton/linen collection that continues the celebration of owers. Silhouette includes a pared down look at the oral shape as well as an exciting nod to embellishment with some novel embroidery print styles. The palette of this collection was specially chosen to combine with the earthy tone and texture of the unbleached linen for a natural but colorful nish. The panel-style print begs you to create stitched art or cushions for your home and the colors all combine beautifully with the Narrative wovens.

I designed the Homework Projects 1-2-3 pattern to play along with the wonderful opportunities that these sturdier linen goods offer the home decorator. The Framed Pillow and Laying Low Pillow designs are a straightforward but charming way to let this collection shine (not to mention combine with Narrative). Choosing to add any of your own embroidery details is icing on the cake. The Tab-boo Curtains teach a clever method of making lined curtains with hidden tabs so that it is adaptable to any size window. These three projects alone can take you from house to home in no time.

All of the Cheery palettes from Indelible:soft, Jumpstart and Perennial Borders come together to create our second installment of the AMT Bespoke Quilts! Dresden Plates have long been a favorite block of mine, but I have never created them oating on such light and airy clouds of color. I took a slight diversion from the traditional Dresden Plate by giving some of the blocks snowball corners for less typical shape. These repeating blocks are accentuated by gorgeous and dramatic setting triangles on the quilt’s edge.
