If a student who began attendance and did not officially withdraw fails to earn a passing grade in at least one course over an entire term, the University must assume that the student has unofficially withdrawn. For this purpose, non-passing grades are defined as W, NE, *, L, or I. Unofficial withdrawals will be determined within 90 days of the end of the term. Federal financial aid recipients will have their awards reviewed and recalculated, causing a reduction in aid awarded. A student must officially withdraw from a course using one of the methods specified above in order to be eligible for a refund. Semester-Based Courses – Students enrolled in semester-based courses may be subject to other withdrawal policies. Please visit www.northeastern.edu/cps for details.

HEALTH PLAN Northeastern University Student Health Plan (NUSHP) Since September 1989, Massachusetts law, (G. L. c. 15A: ß. 18.), has required every full-time and part-time student enrolled in a Massachusetts institution of higher learning to participate in a qualifying student health insurance program (QSHIP) or in a health benefit plan with comparable coverage. For QSHIP requirements, a part-time student is defined as a student enrolled in at least 75% of the full-time curriculum. (College of Professional Studies Undergraduate Students 12 credits, College of Professional Studies Graduate Students 7 credits, Part-time Engineering Students 12 credits). Students who meet these requirements will be billed for the Health Plan and the University Health and Counseling Fee. If a student has comparable* coverage through a domestic insurance provider, he/she may decline/waive this health plan. Eligible students will need to complete the online waiver via http://myneu.neu.edu (under the self-service tab) to decline the plan and have the fees removed from the tuition bill. Deadlines apply.

Master of Science in Criminal Justice Leadership Today, justice system leaders must have a world-view that can be made effective in local settings. These same leaders need to think strategically, communicate locally, and act ethically while developing comprehensive, often multi-jurisdictional solutions to crime and terrorism problems. The Master of Science in Criminal Justice Leadership, offered through the College of Professional Studies, in collaboration with the College of Criminal Justice, provides a path to excellence in the leadership of law enforcement, courts, private security, and corrections organizations. Oriented to working professionals, who wish to maintain work and life commitments while earning a degree, the program is comprised of all online courses, with the exception of a week-long on-campus summer workshop.

Parking for properly registered College of Professional Studies and Lowell Institute School (LIS) students is provided in the University student parking facilities on a first-come, firstserved basis. Parking permits must be ordered online at www.northeastern.edu/parking OR you can visit the Northeastern home page and access the page through “Quick Links.” Go to “Parking.” Students can apply for permits online usually one week prior to the start of each quarter. Students must be registered for class (registration received and processed by the Registrar’s Office) in order to be eligible for a parking permit. The fee is $155 for an evening student permit and will be charged to the applicant’s tuition account. Eligible applicants are told when they can go to the Cashier’s Office (248 Richards Hall) to pick up their permits; applicants will be asked to show photo ID. The University has established a special Saturday rate for students who do not have a parking decal. They can park their vehicles in the Renaissance Park Garage for $1.00 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In order to obtain this special rate, you must present your student ID to the attendant upon exiting the garage. If you do not have your NU ID, you will be subject to the normal Renaissance Park Garage rates. No refunds or reimbursements will be granted should you present your ID at a later time and date. Parking permits are not required at our satellite locations outside Boston. The University does not have any parking facilities at the Boston Broad Street (Downtown) satellite campus. For more information, visit the parking Web page (www.northeastern.edu/parking) or call the Cashier’s Office at 1.617.373.2366.
