This is a project about collecting HIGH NORTH stories about Landscape, through interview common people to get common people’ s voice about HIGH NORTH, all the stories got in a way that talking with people first then visualizing stories in cartoon way by myself. SPILDRA has more than 10,000 years history, like a longevous tortoise. Lots of historic traces,such as numberous cultural monuments, settlements from the early Stone Age, traces of almost 800 late Stone Age houses,various finds from early Metal Age or Bronze Age, from early and late Iron Age, and sacrificial sites,gamme(turf hut)sites,human graves and bear graves from last millennium. The vikings and Sami stories from Ivar who comes from Spildra.
HAMMERFEST is like a dragon rising in North Europe, Statoil company is the dragon head, suportting whole city. VARDØ is like a elegent butterfly in the Barents Sea, with most of old buldings left in WWII, used to be the biggest fishery city in Norway. With numerous glories and wonderful moments in the history, Vardø is still there silently, need people to listen to its stories and cherish it again.
