Welcome to our world. Here we would like to tell you a little bit about ourselves, what we do, and what we are trying to achieve with this thing we call the Northern Hooligans™ Gear Co. SS16 is our 5:th collection to date but we’ve been at it for quite a bit longer. We stem from a retail, distribution and brand licensing background since the early 90’s. With the Northern Hooligans™ Gear Co. we bring a pretty straight forward, streetwear inspired collection to a market where so many brands have either become too strict or too urban to appeal to a customer with roots and / or heritage outside the larger metropolitan areas, even if now living in one. We’re mixing traditional streetwear with an outdoors influence. It’s been natural for us to tap into an outdoors feel as it is a part of our backyard, but we also draw from other influences and you can feel our board sport heritage, our fixation with coffee, beer and music culture as well as our appreciation of the classics.
In a ever changing retail environment we’re trying to be smart, keep our focus and even if not "inventing the wheel" bring something special to market. Our days are filled with sketch pads and mood boards and we’re always working on ideas for collections ahead. We’re hoping to bring more technical garments to the table in the seasons to come. But for now we just hope you will like our SS16 offerings.
ABOUT OUR DESIGN DIRECTION : Our collection features basic high quality garments in classic and contemporary fits with clear visible branding and color ways directed towards a fairly wide customer base, say 18-55 yrs. You can feel the outdoors and vintage sport, the garage and old school skateboard inspiration in the collection. A mix of our heritage and our backyard. We strive to offer good quality and high attention to detail, with distinct graphics and with an attitude and a feel that defines the brand and resonates with our customer base.
ABOUT OUR COLLECTION : We offer a unisex collection of tops ranging from a size Small to a Double-XL, and in some styles and colorways up to Three, Four and Five-XL for those slightly larger than life characters. For SS16 we are also introducing a new T-Shirt Fit that we call “Custom Fit”. It features a contemporary fit in a nice soft touch fabric where we’ve also added a size X-Small to widen our unisex reach. We are also offering a wide range of headwear under our Headwear Division flag, we have some great accessories and co-labs as well as a line of backpacks and bags. We’re continuing to build our brand around products that clearly carries our message and has a high sell thru rate at full retail, maximizing our retailers margins.
ABOUT OUR PRODUCTION : Our goal is to have controlled production all the way, making sure that we offer environmentally sustainable materials and applications in our products. We don’t over produce, minimizing excess stock being sold thru uncontrolled channels that is not a part of building the brand. We believe that overproduction is one of the major problems in the apparel market today, so we’re not doing it. We produce what we book and we grow season to season.
ABOUT OUR RETAIL PARTNERS : We are looking to build longtime relationships with the right retail partners, and our collection should be found with a few different types of retailers. We firmly believe that the brand make the store, but even more so that the store make the brand. So these relationships are crucial to us in building our brand. Right now we’re looking for retail partners that fit the following criterias.
