Peer Challenge 2011 Reassurance through external scrutiny
The Northern Housing Consortium (NHC), in conjunction with Janis Dean and Karen Baildon, (BD Consulting) has for five years, provided a popular and successful training and peer review programme, which has supported over 100 NHC members and undertaken over 20 peer reviews. The programme has assisted organisations that wish to have a reality check on how their organisation delivers services to its customers. In the new age of increased self-challenge and the establishment of new resident led scrutiny panels, our new peer challenge programme has been reshaped to take into account the new operating environment which we now all work in. This series of courses delivered by the NHC, Karen Baildon and Janis Dean will provide an ideal opportunity for your organisation to get your team trained to a level that will allow them to undertake a facilitated peer challenge. The training will provide delegates with the range of tools and techniques used in carrying out assessment. A methodology for assessment Practical skills to be used when reviewing services Evidence gathering Guidance on tools and techniques to get at the right information quickly Presenting your findings
If your organisation is interested in getting your staff trained to undertake peer challenge on site then now is the time to consider booking as places are strictly limited. As we are looking to carry out facilitated peer reviews on a mutual basis between organisations, booking preference will be given to those organisations willing to commit resources to such a programme. However, consideration will also be given to individual organisations just wishing to have their staff trained to a high level of competency. Accreditation Accreditation will lead to Level 1 accreditation for that attendee to be able to undertake internal reviews of their own organisation. Attendance and undertaking a review of another organisation will lead to a level 2 accreditation allowing them to undertake external reviews as part of a NHC/BD led peer challenge team. Accreditation will last for a period of 18 months from the date of the course. If you have any questions in relation to this training or development of the sub regional programme please contact Ian Wright, Director of Performance & Practice on consortium.org.uk.
