ESSENTIAL WORKFORCE TRAINING Bookkeeper and Financial Clerk/Assistant Training (BU349) For course information, please visit www.northernlakescollege.ca/cect This course prepares people who are interested in writing the Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada exam. This course is comprised of two modules and taken consecutively as one course. The first module will show students what is actually happening behind the entry screens on their computer, providing students with a better overall understanding of accounting processes. The second module teaches students how to enter financial transactions such as accounts receivable/payable, payroll, GST/ HST, and bank/cash accounts into QuickBooks (a popular accounting software program).

Minute Taking (AA003) This course includes agenda preparation, minute taking formats for different types of meetings, Rules of Order, how to make a motion, and more.
(CC165) This six-hour session will introduce students to the capabilities of the MS Excel program. Learn how to create a basic spreadsheet using common formulas and functions. You will also learn how to format your worksheet to make it visually appealing and easier to read.
MS Excel 2016: Level 2 (CC166) This six-hour session is for people who are intermediate to advanced users of MS Excel. Learn how to create and use charts and tables, as well as how to analyze your data using pivot tables. You will also explore other features that make it easier to find and organize data, especially when working with large spreadsheets.

This course covers the theory behind safe driving practices. A driver’s license is not required.
This course includes treatment for choking, control of bleeding, treatment and prevention of shock, child and infant resuscitation, one adult and two-rescuer CPR and AED use. Fractures of the limbs, head and spinal injuries, eye injuries, burns, medical conditions, environmental injuries, wound care, and secondary survey are also covered. This course requires that you be physically fit for the practical exercises.
Defensive Driving
Completers are eligible for a three demerit reduction on their Alberta driving record.
