SAFETY TRAINING All-Terrain Vehicle Safety (SA005)
This course will certify you as an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) rider by the Alberta Safety Council, which is a requirement of many employers in both the forest and petroleum industries. Students must supply their own registered and insured ATV, safety gear, and weatherappropriate clothing.
Confined Space Entry / Rescue (SA006)
This course combines theory, demonstrations, and practice of entry into confined/restricted workspaces.
Construction Safety Training System (CSTS-09) (SA003-OL) This course gives a basic overview of various health and safety topics, and students are tested for 100% mastery of content. This program has become a pre-entry requirement for many construction industry work sites. It is certified by the Alberta Construction Safety Association.
Defensive Driving (DT005-OL)
This course covers the theory behind safe driving practices. A driver’s license is not required Completers are eligible for a three demerit reduction on their Alberta driving record.
Fall Protection (SA073)
This course focuses on how to identify fall hazards and on a fall protection plan, protecting those that work at heights of three metres or greater.
Ground Disturbance: Level II (OG001)
This course teaches you how to carry out excavation work safely and in compliance with legislation. This course meets the Alberta Common Ground Alliance (ABCGA) 201 Standard.
H2S Alive (SA004)
This course covers the physical properties and health hazards of H2S, how to protect yourself, and basic rescue techniques.
Power Mobile Equipment (PME): Awareness (PME100)
This course provides an educational overview to those who have a relationship in Power Mobile Equipment (PME) use, discussed from a safety perspective. Topics presented include what is PME, operator competency and responsibilities, plus the obligation of the employer. Legislation relating to PME, hazard identification, and what to do if an incident occurs, will be reviewed.
Power Mobile Equipment (PME): Risk Management (PME102)
This course provides information aimed at owners, managers, and safety personnel, as it relates to Power Mobile Equipment (PME). Topics include what is PME, the worker’s rights, and details occupational health and safety offences and penalties. Operator competency, responsibilities and training, plus the obligations of the employer are discussed. (Note: This course qualifies for 0.3 Continuing Education Unit credits for Alberta Water and Wastewater Operators.)
Power Mobile Equipment (PME): Safe Operation (PME101)
This course is designed for operators of Power Mobile Equipment (PME). Components detailed include what is PME, the training required as an operator of equipment, operator competency and responsibilities, including inspection of PME. Obligations of the employer, hazard identification, occupational health and safety offenses, and the legislation relating to PME requirements will be reviewed. (Note: This course qualifies for 0.3 Continuing Education Unit credits for Alberta Water and Wastewater Operators.)
Power Mobile Equipment (PME): Safe Operation and Risk Management (PME103)
This course educates on the detailed planning and safe use of Power Mobile Equipment (PME). The session includes what is PME, the worker’s rights, and the training required by PME operators. A sizeable portion of the training is dedicated to hazard identification and assessment. (Note: This course combines PME101 and PME 102 and qualifies for 0.6 Continuing Education Unit credits for Alberta Water and Wastewater Operators.)
Standard First Aid - Level C CPR / AED (FA001)
This course includes treatment for choking, control of bleeding, treatment and prevention of shock, child and infant resuscitation, one adult and two-rescuer CPR and AED use. Fractures of the limbs, head and spinal injuries, eye injuries, burns, medical conditions, environmental injuries, wound care, and secondary survey are also covered. This course requires that you be physically fit for the practical exercises.
Standard First Aid - Level C CPR / AED Recertification (FA012)
This course is intended for those who have a current Standard First Aid – Level C certificate and includes a review of essential skills with a focus on theoretical and practical skills testing. Includes Level C CPR recertification and AED recertification. .
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) - Clear Language (SA001-OL)
This online course includes a thorough exam and printable certificate to meet Transport Canada’s training requirements for all employees involved in the transportation of dangerous goods.
Utility-Terrain Vehicle (UTV) Safety (Code: SA1102) This course will certify you as an All-Terrain Vehicle (UTV) rider by the Alberta Safety Council. Students must supply their own registered and insured UTV, safety gear, and weather appropriate clothing. Two riders may share one machine. All machines will undergo a pre-trip safety inspection.
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) (SA002-OL)
This course provides initial or recertification training on the revised Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). This course meets all of Health Canada’s training requirements under the Hazardous Products Regulations for persons involved in handling workplace chemicals.

This module focuses on maintenance efforts with the goal to ensure that physical assets safely, capably, reliably and repeatedly perform to their designed specifications. The focus is on techniques to develop maintenance tactics that will address how the assets are used, how they are likely to fail, the consequences of failure and identifying maintenance tactics that are both feasible and worth doing.
