W e l c o m e f ro m t h e p r i n c i pa l Dear Parents, The Kingsway Academy is an exciting place to be. In the last year, and through our transformation from Wallasey High School, we have experienced an unrivalled opportunity – an opportunity to change for the better. We now face the future with an incredible drive, incredible passion, support and the additional resources we need to ensure that our students experience the education they deserve and need for the future. The opportunities that you will experience at The Kingsway Academy provide not only an outstanding academic curriculum, but also preparation for the competitive real world of higher education and employment. Our career pathways are focused on successful futures across three sectors offering growing opportunities throughout the region. This will allow students to choose options that suit both their desired future career and their personal learning style. Choosing the right sixth form is one of the biggest decisions you will make. I hope this prospectus will give you an insight into the life changing opportunities we are proud to offer our students. Please do take the time to join us at one of our Open Evenings. This will give you the chance to meet myself and my senior team, our exceptional teaching and support teams and most importantly our students. Only then will you be able to truly experience the exciting, innovative, caring atmosphere that is so important to us. We look forward to meeting you and working with you over the coming years. Yours,

Amanda Cawood Principal, The Kingsway Academy 3

t h e s t u d e n t e x p e r i e n c e : H e a d B oy, j o r da n What is it like to be a student at The Kingsway Academy?

Where do you think your studies at the academy will take you?

We have a great environment at the academy and the sixth form suite is very well equipped. The atmosphere is calm, which helps us complete our work and progress in our studies and the teachers are very supportive. Being a student at the academy is a positive experience and I am excited for the future.

I am split between going to university and starting an apprenticeship in web design. To keep my options open, my tutors are supporting me to apply for both.

What is your favourite subject and why?

The way we all learn is different, so my role will involve working with my peers and staff to support the learning and inclusion of everyone here at the academy.

Information Technology. The work is challenging but the support provided allows us all to achieve. The work we do is based on real life scenarios and that gives me even more confidence when thinking about possible career pathways.

As Head Boy, what will your role involve?
