R STEAD PRINCIPAL
Located at the heart of our community, North Liverpool Academy is committed to working with local businesses and residents to be a true community school. We celebrate our diverse nature and we are nationally renowned for many aspects of our provision, including Student Leadership and Inclusion.
We pride ourselves in being a school that is happy and driven by our core values. Every student is developed as a confident learner and our inclusive curriculum has been structured through strong partnerships locally, nationally and internationally.
Curriculum for learning
Our curriculum is broad, balanced and cohesive. It builds individuals confidence and sense of achievement. We have personalised learning pathways that will empower and prepare our students for the 21st century. Underpinned by our core values, the curriculum provides a wide range of subjects and opportunities which meet the needs of all our students. We want North Liverpool Academy students to be enthusiastic about their learning and develop a thirst to learn more. We recognise that our curriculum extends beyond the classroom. Our innovative transition programme ensures that we know our year 7 students when they arrive. This enables them to progress smoothly from Key Stage 2 into Key Stage 3. Our personalised learning approach begins the moment a student arrives with us. Our focus in Key Stage 3 is to ensure that the core skills of literacy and numeracy, which act as the foundation for all learning, are secure. Building on the provision from our excellent primary partner schools. In Key Stage 4 all of our students study a core curriculum which includes English, Mathematics, Science and PE. In addition, they have option choices from a wide range of GCSE and vocational subjects. We encourage a choice of broad and balanced programme which serves as a strong foundation for further progression into academic study in our Sixth Form and beyond. At Key Stage 5 we have a thriving Sixth Form which
offers a range of advanced and vocational options. Our partnerships with industry ensure that our students are presented with opportunities to enrich their learning and develop themselves as active citizens.
