Our First Meeting

WRITTEN BY ZIDANE DOAN

Being completely honest, there are many aspects that I could improve to perform better as Vice President of Key Club. As I head into my Junior year, all my advanced classes are piling more and more work everyday. This has forced me to focus more on my academics than Key Club, which is something that I wished would never happen when I applied for an officer position. Due to the excessive amount of work, Key Club hasn’t really been a top priority for me. I’ve had no time to help search for new volunteering opportunities for our members, so most of the work went to the president. I kept on writing my article until the last minute, which caused more work for the editor. This is not something I want for my fellow officers. As Vice President, it is my duty and responsibility to assist not only the members of Key Club, but also my fellow board members. Everyone is working just as hard as me, and yet I’m the only one not contributing any work. This is something that I want to and need to change immediately for the sake of my fellow board members and Key Club.

. I hope to find a better way to organize all my work and put in as much effort into Key Club as I do into my academics.

I’ve realized that Key Club is something that I cherish. The memories I’ve created are something that I hope others will be able to do; however, without me being there to help Key Club expand to its full potential, then that will never be possible. I need to step up my game and fulfill my duty as Vice President. Starting now, I will be putting more effort into Key Club. I will browse for more events to help my fellow

\presidents relieve some workload, as well as help them type new documents for meetings. I will also check up with other I want to and need to change immediately for the sake of my fellow board members officers to see if they need help with anything. My teamwork skills haven't been the greatest throughout my life, but I plan to improve that. I will also be interacting more with the members of Key Club to help my social skills. By attending events, I can interact and hopefully create new memories for the members. There needs to be someone that the members can look up to, and if it’s not any of the other officers, then I need to be there as an option for them. Because if I want Key Club to reach its maximum potential, then I better be the Vice President that I was meant to be.
