LEDcon is the most fun experience I ever had. I did not know what to expect of LEDcon when first hearing about it, but it was phenomenal. I never guessed what memories I gained from this trip that will forever carry into my heart. I loved everyone at LEDcon, regardless of interaction, their presence was memorable. In the weeks and days before LEDcon, my anticipation was slowly building up, I was getting more anxious as the day got closer. I was excited about everything, the hotel, the people, and the contest. I was participating in the Super Smash Bros tournament and I wanted to bring pride to our club somehow.

During the first day of LEDcon, we arrived a bit late, around 7. We registered at the hotel, dropped off our stuff in our rooms, and headed into a giant gym-like room. The room was filled with bouncy houses and LTG all around. I raced with Osheen, and in another one, I knocked her out with a toy staff. I also played Jenga with Mayah, Amy, Osheen, Chris, and an LTG. Every block had a number on it and each number had an action for us to do, take a picture with a random stranger, dance off, take candy, and whatever After we were done with the area, we took our group theme picture, and we were dressed as Spongebob characters; I was Snellie.

On the second day of LEDcon, we ate breakfast that the hotel provided( it was expensive). During this day, there were a lot of forums and activities These forums had LTG speaking of how to be a leader, speaking in front of an audience, and finding service events. The activities were the Super Smash Bros tournament, talent show, and speeches. I participated in the Super Smash and went to the finals. I would be playing a game the next day during the luncheon.

On the third day of LEDcon, for the luncheon, the dress code is formal. Everyone at the luncheon was dressed in beautiful suits and dresses, the food was amazing. I played during the luncheon and I won, I won a medal and everyone was cheering. We are nominated for 9th club out of every other club, we also won the top website.

On the last day of LEDcon, we packed everything we had, took pictures, and said goodbye to the district and LTG leaders. I enjoyed LEDcon and I can’t wait to go next year

As I sink into the layers of blankets and pillows in my hotel room, bedridden with guilt and tears welling in my eyes, I stop to think of what brought me to this point I anticipated LEDCON to be an amazing experience; unforgettable, irreplaceable, and exultant above all However, I found quite the opposite to be true as I laid glued to my bed, sick with what one may describe as a heavy heart Following the awards ceremony, I returned to my room, disappointment eating away at my chest. Our club had failed to place in any of the competitions we signed up for and won zero trophies. Despite placing for one of top three websites in the T-O region, we were left with nothing but a distinguished website patch Compared to last year's top website trophy among a multitude of other trophies, we weren’t anywhere near the level of last year’s board While I front a happy face and walk over to my friends’ room with a smile, I can’t help but feel a twinge of sorrow and shame I run my worn hands into the carved, wooden door of my friends’ hotel room. *Knock* As the door opens and I come face to face with the group of people I have spent the entire year working with, I burst into tears. They surround and embrace me like a pack of sardines, leaving not a single ounce of air to breathe It is at this moment that I learn the value of Key Club and what it means to me Etched into my mind like a deep painting on a canvas were the four values of Key Club: leadership, character building, caring, and inclusiveness These four values have become the highlight of my time as an officer as I uncover each one in the people around me. While I had merely thought of these words as a ploy to attract members, I discovered that these words had more weight than just letters on a flyer Each one of these values and the people that represent them have built a community that I’ve found to be stronger than even blood My K-Family has taught me so much and will continue to do so moving forward Despite the long hours, late nights, and early mornings, I’ve found myself coming back to this club once again like an aching pain that never seems to stop. Yet, despite the difficulties that this club has put me through, I continue to embrace and accept Key Club as an integral part of my life. So what does Key Club mean? Key Club is and always will be a second family to me
