Key Club has been a very valuable experience throughout my high school years. I would’ve never thought I would be holding the vice president position when I first joined the club as a freshman. Over the years, I’ve grown as a person in the club.

Compared to last year, my schedule has been a lot more packed. From extracurricular activities like the band to numerous AP classes, volunteering for Key Club has been a second thought. I’ve been so busy this year that it was very difficult to make room in my schedule to attend a social event. I also haven’t been able to fulfill my duties as a Vice President to the best of my ability. With Christmas break coming up, I’ve planned to attend some of the holiday events like Christmas at the Arboretum, and volunteer alongside my fellow members.

I was more involved in the club last year as a Sophomore. That year was the first year I held a leadership position. I had a rough start as an assistant editor because that was my first year coming back from covid and I had to balance my duties as an assistant editor alongside my core classes.

Toward the middle of the year, I managed to get a grasp of my position. I created countless flyers to keep the Instagram active. One of my goals for this year is to revive the Instagram because I feel like the design team isn’t putting in as much effort as last year. I hope to motivate them to keep the Instargram active so that the members can see their effects on the community.

Next semester, my goal is to be more active as a Vice President. A lot of the work has been done by our president, Mayah, and I hope to keep some of that weight off of her shoulders.

My dedication to Key Club has diminished over time. Since my schedule is so packed, I hope to keep some of that weight off of her shoulders. My dedication to Key Club has diminished over time

I see my duties as a Vice President and volunteering as a chore rather than something I enjoy. This has led me to put things off until the very last minute.

In the end, Key Club will always have a place in my heart. It was one of the very first clubs that I joined and gained numerous friends. I’ve enjoyed waking up at 5 am for the dart, standing in the cold weather, and volunteering under the hot sunlight alongside my peers.
