By: Heather Banks and Sam Tonight we had the pleasure of visiting the Preschool class as they were spending time together and making friends. In today’s preschool group there were 14 kids; 8 boys and 6 girls. When we first went in, the preschoolers were sitting in a circle and singing a song called “We All Sing With The Same Voice.” Then they took a vote to see if they would have their snack inside or outside. Outside won with 12 votes! As they enjoyed their baggies of M&Ms, pretzels and Cheerios, we went around and interviewed them. Since today’s focus at VBS is “God created us in God’s image,” we set out to ask some of the youngsters, “How did God create you in His image?” Here’s what some of them had to say: “With His power.” – Ben, age 4 “With your blood, heart, and brain.” – Xavier, age 5 “I’m glad He created me.” – Wade, age 4 Preschool is having a GREAT start to VBS!

By Maureen Purcell Tonight we learn about Ourselves as God created us in God’s image. How are we going to do that in art? How in drama, music, in preschool and, for heaven’s sake, in yoga?! Journalism will tell the story this week. Our roaming reporters will visit each crew throughout the week and report on how everybody learns about loving our neighbors as ourselves. Roving reporters, Heather Banks and Sam, will cover the activities in preschool as our largest group explores God’s image in friendships. Reporter Tori Kincaid will jump on the boards with the Drama group, Chad Kincaid will follow the lyrical messages inside the music group, Mehri Mohebbi discovers how the art crew draws inspiration from family and friends as neighbors, and Emma Schlabach is discovering how the yoga group stretches and strengthens friendships. All week, each group is visited by a reporter, and photographers Emily and Hannah, Cheryl Plunkett, and Katie Bulloff. Off we go, telling the many stories of VBS 2016!
