Study Options • 1 Year Full Time | September Start • 16 Months Full Time | September Start • 2 Years Full Time with Advanced Practice in Second Year | January or September Start


Teaching and Assessment Teaching • Courses are split into modules worth 20 or 60 credits. • You study for 180 credits per year. • Lectures (large group teaching), seminars (small group discussions), workshops (interactive, practical sessions) and dissertations (large scale research project). You will have access to our e-Learning platform Blackboard, where you can re-watch all Panopto-recorded lectures and read workshop presentation slides at your own pace. • Field Trips Assessment • You’ll undertake a Masters project that will hone your skills in evaluating and applying research techniques and methodologies. The topic of the project will reflect your own unique interests. Your supervisor will provide guidance from its development through to completion. • Assessments are designed to give feedback as well as to monitor your level of achievement. The assessed projects will enable you to test your skills in ways that relate to current industrial practice. Assessments are undertaken in the form of exams, assignments, technical reports, presentations and project work.

Their experience, combined with their on-going active research, will provide an excellent foundation for your learning. Entry Requirements for 2021 Applicants should normally have: • A minimum of a 2:2 honours degree in an engineering or science discipline. Other subject qualifications, equivalent professional qualifications and/or relevant work experience will be considered on an individual basis. • English language requirements: English language requirements - International applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 with 5.5 in each component (or approved equivalent*). Faculty Facilities • Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) is embedded throughout the course with tools such as the ‘Blackboard’ eLearning Portal and electronic reading lists that will guide your preparation for seminars and independent research. Our use of lecture capture software will help you revise challenging material. • You will have access to our dedicated engineering laboratories that are continuously updated to reflect real-time industry practice. This includes: mechanical and energy systems experimentation labs, rapid product development and performance analysis, materials testing and characterisation, 3D digital design and manufacturing process performance. • You will be given the opportunity to get hands-on with testing, materials processing, moulding, thermal analysis and 3D rapid manufacture to help you create the products and systems required for the projects you will work on during your course. • You will also participate in IT workshops where you will learn how to use the latest industrystandard software. • When it comes to applying for jobs, our Careers and Employment Service offers a range of resources as well as support that’s available online and on a one-to-one basis.
