T U O D N A ST BRILLIANT SCHOLARS. COMMITTED CHRISTIANS. That describes Northwestern’s faculty, which includes Fulbright Scholars and Iowa Professors of the Year. They’re Yale and Princeton PhDs, published authors, and experts in fields that range from cancer genetics to urban economics. Mostly, though, our professors are experts at caring about students. That’s why they’ll invest so much of themselves in you. Your curiosity and questions excite them. Your potential inspires them. To them, you stand out.

THE WORLD IS YOUR CLASSROOM … Our semester study abroad programs in Oman and Romania have earned us a spot on the list of “The 50 Best Study Abroad Programs in America.” Interested in somewhere different? Then choose a partner program and go to Costa Rica. Or England. Or New Zealand. Or wherever your wanderlust takes you. And if you don’t want to give up a whole semester, then take one of our 3-week summer study abroad courses. They’re taught by Northwestern professors and have taken students to many different countries, including Italy, Greece and Poland. … AND YOUR MISSION FIELD Teach English in Ecuador. Serve at a soup kitchen in Dublin. Provide medical care in Ghana. The opportunities to serve in other parts of the world are as expansive as the call God has placed on your heart. You can spend spring break on one of a dozen Spring Service Partnership trips with other Northwestern students, or be trained for a Summer of Service mission experience in places like the Amazon, India or Zambia.

COLLEGE IS A 24/7 EDUCATION, and a lot of it takes place outside the classroom. Sure, your classes take a few hours each day. And homework, of course, is an important way to spend your time. (Sleep too!) But that still leaves a lot of time for friends, fun, fitness and other activities that make college great preparation not just for a career, but for life. Opportunities to get involved (and grow as a leader) are as diverse as our students. In addition to campus ministries, music, theatre and Raider athletics, there are multiple intramural competitions every season and more than 50 student clubs and organizations–—including ones focused on career interests, gaming, multiculturalism, politics and social justice.
residence life HOME NORTHWESTERN’S COMMUNITY IS EXCEPTIONAL. And that starts at home–—in your residence hall. Unlike other colleges, where freshmenonly dorms are the norm, here upperclassmen leaders choose to live in the residence halls. They stay to hang out with you. To mentor you. To maybe become a friend for life. Orange City (pop. 6,000) has been called one of the nation’s “Top 10 Christian College Towns.” It’s also known for friendliness, cleanliness, safety and its charming downtown.
