DENVER
Denver is a city of 77 neighborhoods that sits at the base of the Rocky Mountains and provides multiple urban and outdoor opportunities. You’ll be immersed in numerous cultural activities and within walking distance of restaurants, coffee shops, parks and community festivals that provide diversity and a multicultural experience.
PROGRAM STAFF
The Denver Urban Semester staff includes a teaching professor and faculty adviser, student teacher supervisor, social work supervisor, and resident director and multicultural coordinator. Greg Fuchs serves as the site director. He has a master’s degree from Denver Seminary and has led the Denver Urban Semester for more than 10 years. He previously was involved in student development for 15 years, during which time he served as a youth pastor, Young Life director, high school chaplain and vocational coach. PROGRAM COSTS
You will pay normal tuition and housing costs to your school. While in Denver, you will be expected to pay for your food (approximately $250 per month) and entertainment.

ELIGIBILITY
In order to apply to the Denver Urban Semester, you must have completed your freshman year of college with a 2.5 GPA or higher and be recommended by your adviser.

The Denver Urban Semester is a reflective, visionary leadership development program. Offered through Northwestern College of Iowa, it provides a cross-cultural experience in the heart of the city, giving you the opportunity to develop a mature understanding of God’s unique vocational direction for your life.
INTERNSHIPS

COURSES
All courses are accredited by Northwestern College and meet NWC’s standards for academic rigor. Depending on your major and interests, you will enroll in one of three tracks:

LIVING IN COMMUNITY
As part of the Denver Urban Semester, you’ll live in community, learning alongside other students in the program. Housing is in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, located in the heart of downtown Denver. The program is also able to accommodate married couples.
