When to apply for financial aid
Once you’ve applied to NWC, you can apply for financial aid as early as Oct. 1 using information from your parents’ 2016 income tax filing. We recommend using FAFSA’s data retrieval function, which pulls data directly from the tax filing.

Academic scholarships ($6,500 to $18,000 per year) Visit
nwciowa.edu/scholarships, enter your test scores and GPA, and see what yearly academic scholarship amount you’ll automatically receive when you enroll. (If you’re transferring to NWC, your academic scholarship will be based on your college GPA.)
Fine arts or athletic scholarships are available for performers who participate in music or theatre and student-athletes who intend to play intercollegiate sports.
Legacy Grants are available to students with a family or church connection to Northwestern College.
Iowa Tuition Grants are available for in-state students who qualify. Scholarships based on need and merit are available through the
generosity of Northwestern alumni and supporters. All enrolled students are automatically screened to determine eligibility for the majority of these scholarships; a few require an application. Your counselor will advise you.
