Camping at OysterFest
Stay for the weekend with us!
It’s great to visit OysterFest for the day, it’s less than a 30 minutedrive from Olympia, but even more fun to make it a weekend longannual tradition!
October is a great time to visit the Hood Canal area. The tourists have gone back to their schedules and many lodging establishments have availability and even reduced rates. Consider reserving a waterfront cabin on the canal for your whole group for less than $200/night. Here you will be able to hike, fish, or kayak and enjoy spectacular mountain views and beach access during your stay. And did we mention that on most public beaches and even at some rental accommodations – you can harvest your own clams and oysters? Can’t get much fresher than that! Visit explorehoodcanal. com for some lodging suggestions. The Shelton area offers everything from simple clean motels to exclusive waterfront resorts. If you prefer nightlife, an energy packed local casino is available for full accommodations.
Have your own RV or enjoy tent camping? OysterFest is hosted on the north side of the Shelton airport and the festival area is surrounded by dry RV and tent camping. Talk about easy access to OysterFest! Many groups of friends annually create their own little camp communities.
Camping reservations onsite are available Thursday through Sunday. On Friday, October 4, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, the event really kicks off with an evening celebration – OysterFunk. Held in the microbrew garden, this event features food, beer, wine, and live music with The Varmints. Hosted by the Shelton Rotary Club, admission $5.
