about the lap
The Lineman Apprenticeship Program is a four-year educational experience providing the related technical instruction component of apprenticeship for lineworkers. This program is offered to apprentice lineworker employees of electric utilities, construction companies, or similar entities performing construction and/or maintenance on power delivery systems. NLC provides all related technical instruction, manages training calendars and records, and sends notification of all required training for apprentices. Upon successful completion, enrollees earn an NLC Certificate of Completion and Department of Labor Journeyman Certification, if the participating utility or construction company’s program is registered with the Office of Apprenticeship (or similar state agency). Apprentices attend instructor-led training sessions that are delivered two weeks per year. Training can take place on an NLC campus or a company site. Apprentices will receive classroom, lab, and field instruction from our highly qualified and dedicated staff of training specialists who are committed to providing a positive and challenging educational environment.
NLC’s Lineman Apprenticeship Program is a great choice for companies seeking a formalized apprenticeship program that includes dynamic, hands-on training and skills verification delivered at the benchmark standard. Trainees who successfully complete the Lineman Apprenticeship Program receive an NLC certification. Our curriculum is recognized by the US Department of Labor, and can be used to obtain DOL Journeyman Certification. It is our honor to train your apprentices.
