LIFEGUARDING INSTRUCTOR (LGI)
Jan 12-28, TTH 4-8p, Cost $185 Age: 17 years +; Course length: 20 hours Cost: $185, textbook is additional $35 or can be downloaded at www.redcross.org This American Red Cross certification will give you the ability to teach lifeguarding and certify lifeguards as well as teaching CPR/AED and first aid as stand alone classes. A great resource for pool managers, operators, and aquatic directors.
LIFEGUARD TRAINING
Age: 15 yrs +; Course Length: 27 hours Cost: $175, includes CPR mask, textbook is additional $35 or can be downloaded at www.redcross.org Mar 28-Apr 1, M-F, 9a-5p Apr 4-8 M-F, 9a-5p, Apr 11-22, MWF, 4-10p American Red Cross Lifeguarding is your ticket to fantastic, rewarding work at almost any swimming facility in the country. Upon successful completion, you will be certified in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and Oxygen Administration. Pool and classroom work.
WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR (WSI)
Age: 16 years +, Course: 36 hours Blended Learning Cost: $185 for class, $65 for books, or can be downloaded for free. Apr 11-22, MTTHF, 4-10p If you like the water and enjoy sharing that enthusiasm with all ages, this is the certification for you. American Red Cross WSI’s are in large demand all over the country. Another rewarding opportunity in the aquatics industry.
LIFEGUARD REVIEW COURSE
Mar 19-20, 10a-4p, Cost $100 Looking forward to another season as a Lifeguard but your certification is set to expire? New American Red Cross requirements for re-certification are completion of a 12-hour review course prior to your current certification’s expiration. Participants will be refreshed in their lifesaving, CPR/ AED, and first aid skills, and provided instruction in the most up-to-date skills and techniques.
COMMUNITY CPR/AED.
CLASSROOM ONLY: $59 Dates: To Be Announced American Red Cross Community CPR teaches the skills necessary to perform adult CPR and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). American Red Cross Community First Aid teaches basic skills to treat victims of injury or sudden illness. Succcessful completion of the course will result in certification. Online: Cost is $30 *Red Cross registration fee not included This is a blended learning course that includes an online portion, then after completion requires a skills session with a certified American Red Cross instructor. Must make an appointment for the skills session. Upon receipt of payment, instructions will be emailed to you during regular business hours. Once the online part is completed, please call 509.758.0110 to schedule an appointment to complete the classroom skills. Test sessions will be scheduled to accommodate more than one student, 1-on-1 testing available for $15 extra. Course Cost includes CPR face mask. FITNESS CLASSES WATER WALKERS
Tues./Thurs. 2:30p year-round in the indoor Natatorium. A walking based, in-water resistance class for those looking for less cardio in their workout. A great class for beginners, advanced, and athletes, resistance training is fantastic for working on balance and flexibility. Water shoes required.
WATER AEROBICS
MWF, 5:30a, 7:30a, 6:15p Saturday, 10:30a Cost: $5 per class, $25 per month, or $180 per year. Water shoes required. Jump into fitness with our water aerobics classes! No experience is necessary and there are varying intensity classes for all fitness levels. Our experienced and certified instructors will guide you through exercises until you feel like a pro.

WORLD’S LARGEST SWIMMING LESSON Friday, June 24, 8a
The nation’s top water safety and training organizations are joining forces to present The World’s Largest Swimming LessonTM (WLSL) to build awareness about the vital importance of teaching children to swim to help prevent drowning. On June 24th, waterparks, pools and other aquatic facilities around the globe will host local WLSL lessons simultaneously in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record. The Asotin County Family Aquatic Center is one of the host facilities. The event will be at 10 am for half an hour. Kids of all ages are welcome. Children under 3 must have a parent in the water with them. Admission is free.

As the children progress on their own, they will learn the basics of body position, floating, and water movement, including beginning stroke work on their front, back and side.

The B Champs are back! We’ll have kids from all over the region here to compete; including our valley’s LC Neptunes. The indoor pool complex will close at 12pm on Friday, Feb 12 and will remain closed until Monday morning, Feb 15. Spectators are free, so come down and watch the kids race!

March 1-31 Must have a Natatorium Membership to participate; Cost $20 Swim on your own or on a team of up to 4 people. Register under a team name and count your miles together! Think you’ve got this swimming thing down? Can’t be beat in the pool? See if you’ve got what it takes to swim to Heller Bar in just a month. A fun program for all swimmers. Try to swim to Heller Bar by counting laps that you swim in the Cove Natatorium. Swim 22 miles before the program ends and receive an official T-shirt. Chart your progress on a map of the river posted in the pool area. 1 mile = 72 pool lengths (36 laps).

This is our kickoff opening the outdoor Lagoon Waterpark. As always, opening day will be a Free Splash Day from 11:30a-6p. All waterpark passes will be 10% off on Splash Day only (excluding resident youth season passes). Free Splash Day means free admission and prize giveaways. Come ride the waves, twist down the water slides and relax in the lazy river for free.
