OUR DIFFERENCE Without people, places are just...well, places. The ROW difference begins and ends with people. For more than 30 years, ROW Adventures has carefully crafted itineraries through firsthand experience. ROW is driven by service and providing life-changing travel experiences. We handle the logistics so you can embrace each moment of your trip to the fullest. On ROW trips, you not only meet the locals – you’re welcomed by them in a genuine way. You truly become a part of the places you visit. Through superlative guest service, experience, education, and artfully crafted itineraries, ROW strives to provide travel experiences that have a positive impact on our guests, our guides, and the people and places we visit.
ORIGINAL & INVOLVED
ADVENTURE EXPERIENCE
Because Mother Nature can sometimes throw a curve ball, consistency and leadership experience are critical for an adventure travel provider. ROW has maintained family ownership since 1979 and both of ROW’s owners continue to be active in the company’s operations.
ROW guides have an average of eight years guiding experience. Many have extensive wilderness medical training and are certified in interpretation - offering cultural, historical and geological insights into the areas you travel. Our international guides are fully bilingual (or better) and well-educated in their country’s cultural and natural history.
YOUR SECURITY
ENVIRONMENTAL INTEGRITY
Travel of any kind has inherent risks. While ROW takes every precaution to mitigate risk, you can be certain that our staff and equipment is prepared to handle emergency situationS that may arise. We have working telephones on all trips in the Galapagos, giving us instant response times versus country radios located at ranger stations. Each ROW guide is certified in basic emergency care, and many have advanced wilderness safety credentials.
ROW has always been an active supporter of environmental conservation. We are dedicated to “Leave No Trace” camping ethics and always practice the three R’s Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Over the years, ROW has served on the board for IGTOA (International Galapagos Tour Operators Association) and, along with our guests, have donated generously to promoting sustainable tourism to help protect the Galapagos Islands.

TRIP EXTENSIONS The majority of our Galapagos guests take advantage of the amazing adventures in this part of the world before or after their trip to the islands. We have hand-crafted itineraries specifically in Ecuador and Peru to help our guests continue their unbelievable experience away from the islands.
EXPLORE THE AMAZON RAIN FOREST
VISIT COTOPAXI & ANDES HIGHLANDS
JOURNEY TO MACHU PICCHU
There are several wonderful lodges in Ecuador which lie in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, known as “El Oriente.” Each is slightly different and we are here to help you choose the one that will match your interests and style of travel best. We have chosen these particular lodges in large part because they both are responsible eco-tourism projects that support the local population while also promoting conservation.
With a choice of three traditional Ecuadorian haciendas or ranches that surround Cotopaxi, the highest active volcano on Earth, you can enjoy the beauty and wilderness that is the Andes. Just south of Quito and around 1 hour from Quito’s new airport you can experience the Andes at their maximum intensity, discovering the charisma of the people, the diversity of the natural setting and the adrenaline rush of outdoor activity at its finest.
We invite you to discover a new way to adventure Peru on a signature “unbound” tour. In this artfully created itinerary we blend iconic Machu Picchu with the Sacred Valley of the Urubamba, the city of Cusco and deep-blue Lake Titicaca in a magical, enlightening journey through history and modern Peruvian culture. Your explorations are by foot, kayak, bicycle (if you want), train and vehicle. Highlights include the archaeological, astronomical and religious wonders of the Sacred Valley, a Peruvian Paso horse demonstration during an elegant dinner, kayaking to Amantani and Taquile islands on Lake Titicaca, Peruvian culinary creations, and the majesty of Machu Picchu.
