Indian Jungle Angling Adventure

Indian Jungle Angling Adventure is a one week (5 Days fishing) travel itinerary created for anglers who want to experience sight fishing and wildlife safaris in one of the richest eco-systems eco of the country.


Western Ramganga Is a spring fed river which runs crystal clear for most part of the year, with excellent clear and wadable waters, makes for the best sight fishing opportunities in India. Since the river drains through the Corbett Tiger Reserve, you'll be angling in the most pristine natural ecosystems of the lower Himalayas. This river is home to Golden Mahseer, Indian trout and Goonch catfish.

The Region Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park in India and mainland Asia. The park was named after the hunter and conservationist Jim Corbett who played a key role in its establishment, best known for hunting man-eating tigers and leopards in the Kumaon and lower Garhwal in the 1900s. Corbett National Park has captured the imagination of many with its diverse wildlife and unique landscapes.Corbett National Park is amongst the best managed Wildlife parks of the country. Main wildlife animals found here are tigers and leopards, elephants, spotted deer, sambar deer, blue bull, ghoral, kakar, wild boar, sloth and himalayan black bears, river otters, yellow-throated marten, langur and rhesus monkeys, cobras, pythons and nearly 600 species of birds like kingfishers, Pallas fish eagle, Tawny fish owl, sandpipers, forktails and red jungle fowl.

Immerse yourself in the natural treasures found within the Jim Corbett National Park. Picturise sport fishing in such rich surroundings and a healthy riverine ecosystem offering sight fishing opportunities for the ‘Tiger of Indian rivers’, the Golden Himalayan Mahseer and the monstrous Goonch Catfish. It is an adventure fit for kings, as experienced by the great Jim Corbett himself.

Trip Outline: Day 1: Pick up from the New Delhi International airport and drive to Corbett Tiger Reserve which takes 5 to 7 hours depending on road traffic. Meet the staff and get briefed about the area and the river. Unwind and prepare for next day's fishing. Day 2 and 3: After taking Breakfast, get prepared to head towards the selected fishing beat for a morning angling session where you wade to reach productive swims and pools, get acquainted with Mahseer waters and Angling tactics. Head back to camp for lunch followed by a brief siesta, get back to fishing for a promising evening session. Return to Camp for the night and enjoy bonfire discussion discussions followed by a sumptuous meal. Sleep in the comfort of your Tent/Hut. ats of the Western Ramganga on both days. Western Ramganga (post monsoon season) Day 4: A full day excursion of the Corbett Tiger Reserve for Game Viewing and Bird Watching. You get to visit the core zone of the Corbett National Park for a Jeep Safari and experience tthe he rich ecology eco and wildlife of this region. It is an n opportunity to observe and photograph the jungle in its full glory and its elusive inhabitants going about their daily business.


Asiatic Bull Elephant (Overwhelming and Magnificent!) acquainted with Mahseer waters, so after taking breakfast, step up to the Day 5 and 6: By now, you’ll be well-acquainted challenge by targeting promising swims and pools known to hold big fish. Also, you can do some photography while on the riverside orr simply relax and ttake in all the sights and sounds of the jungle. Head H back to Camp for lunch, followed by a brief rest.. If you wish to take a break from fishing, you can always opt for a nature hike through village trails and observe local culture, who knows, you might even get a glimpse of interesting Fauna, this region is well known for! Or p plan out and execute your angling strategy to entice enti that finicky Golden Mahseer in a productive evening session on the river. Explore a different jungle angling beat on both days and cover most of the productive stretches of water on the Western Ramganga river.

Day 7: Departure from the camp, accompanied back to the New Delhi International airport.

Includes: Accomodation , Transport, Meals and Snacks, Beverages and Mineral Water, Fishing Permits and Guided Fishing, Nature Hikes and Full day Game Safari. Not Included: Airfare, Alcoholic Beverages, Tips and Fishing Equipment.

Season: Mid- February, March, April, May, October and November.

Bookings and Payment Policies A 50 % advance deposit per person of the total trip cost will be required to confirm this Itinerary. The remainder and final payment is to be made 30 days before trip departure date. We would issue an e-mail receipt for both advance deposit and final payment. A hard copy of the payment receipt would be issued before completion of the trip. All payments can be sent to us by wire-transfer; bank information will be sent to you via e-mail. Please note:

Confirmation of your reservation is subject to receipt of a 50% advance deposit. We require each guest’s full name, age, sex, nationality and passport numbers. PAN Card or Driving License numbers for Indians.

Travel Insurance Due to the nature of our business, we highly recommend that you purchase travel/trip insurance to cover any unforeseen event resulting in cancellation, postponement or rescheduling of the trip for any reason.

Refunds Due to the seasonal nature of our work, we do not give refunds after receiving the final payment for the trip, as it is not possible to put those trip dates up for reservation again within weeks from departure date of the upcoming tour. However, if you fail to make the commitment due to some exigency, we can reserve dates for you for the following season. Refunds for advance deposits are made till 45 days before trip departure date but are subject to application of a 20 % cancellation fee on the total trip cost. From this time period(less than 45 days to departure date), no refunds are given for either advance deposit or final payment.


Delays Himalayan Outfitter cannot be held accountable for any delays caused by hazards beyond our control. This includes airline, baggage delays, delays caused by landslides, rain, accidents or any other natural hazards. Food Preferences: We will be happy to accommodate any dietary requests that you may have. Please intimate us regarding any dietary restrictions, your likes and dislikes prior to your arrival. Food served in camp is mainly traditional Indian cuisine with Chinese, Continental and Italian dishes. Due to cultural reasons, Beef is not served in camp.

Medical Aid: Please make sure that you bring your prescribed medication along for the trip. We highly recommend that you travel with a comprehensive medical insurance. We do keep a complete first-aid kit in Camp.

Restrictions: The government of India prohibits the use of satellite phones, short range & long range radio devices within India. There are severe restrictions on use of firearms like rifles / pistols, stun guns and large knives. Fishing Tackle Recommendations

Fly FishingRod and Fly line: A 9 to 10 foot 7 WT single handed rod paired up to a reel with 7 WT Distance Casting (Shooting Head) Intermediate Sink Fly line and a Spare reel spool with a Distance Casting Floating Fly line. Lure FishingRod: A 7 to 7 ½ Medium Spinning or Bait Casting Rod Reel: Capable of holding 200 Yards of 12 Lb monofilament Line: We recommend Monofilament/Copolymer for use on Himalayan Rivers due to abundant rocky structure, however, you can use Braid as well but an 8 to 10 feet of fluorocarbon leader in front is a must. Use 12 to 15 Lb test line for Mono/Fluoro or an equivalent diameter Braided line something like 40 to 50 Lb test(varies from manufacturer to manufacturer).

Rod: A Medium Heavy to Heavy Bait Cast/Spinning rod rated for use with 15 to 40 Lb test line Reel: A big Multiplier/Spinning reel capable of holding 200 yards of 25 Lb test mono atfish is the only catfish which has Teeth so a Wire trace is a must and bring a few 5/0 to Goonch Catfish 2/0 circle hooks. Bait is procured locally.
